Another in a long series of impeachable moments, but our feckless opposition will do nothing and probably say nothing

That was Josh Hawley, but yeah

Putting ont heir gas masks means they're planning to deploy gas against protesters. You still haven't apologized for lying about the protesters firing rubber bullets yesterday.
comment in response to post
Instamute, this kinda tabloidy drivel is a big reason of why our politics are so trash in the first place
comment in response to post
Are you a reflexive liar or just brain poisoned? Someone having participated in protest marches over a 30 year period =/= professional or paid
comment in response to post
Wasn't this a scene in the Matrix
comment in response to post
Now you've run out of arguments and resorted to lying. Fuck off.
comment in response to post
Well it's a little more than doing nothing, which is what is currently happening. I am not aware of a single Democrat who has called out this bigot conspiracy theorist serving as Pentagon press secretary and being paid with tax dollars.

There were a whole lot of people in ICE before J6 happened or the Proud Boys came into existence. It has been a problem agency since the establishment of DHS, and people have been warning about it them being fascists the whole time. eg They were openly trying to subvert Obama's immigration reforms.

I'm sorry, why do you think he can't get a crowd of MAGA types? Attracting a crowd is one thing he is indisputably good at.
comment in response to post
Don't be so naive, he'll be able to get lots of MAGA people to cheer and wave flags, it's not like they don't know how to organize a crowd

'omg it would be an attack line in '26' - locking in defeat a year in advance. Voters will not turn out for cowards that cringe from every imaginable attack, they come out for leadership that stands up to bullies and manipulators, calls them out as such, and never plays the opponents' game.

The trap is accepting their rhetorical frame and letting them shape your actions. The Dems have already allowed fascists into power. The Dems should have a policy of not voting with the republicans on anything, because the gop is a party of lies and tyranny. It's that simple.
comment in response to post
Nothing prevents Rep Simon from writing tot he Dod and making a public issue out of it. Enough with the helpless passivity. Don't you think it's a problem that the DOD press spokesperson is an openly bigoted whackjob? What good reason is there for Dems not to call this out loud and long?
comment in response to post
We're talking about what the Democrats should be doing, your attempt to redirect discussion to me is irrelevant. My position is simple: Democrats should not cooperate with the Republicans in any respect.
comment in response to post
What part of 'do not vote with the Republicans on ANYTHING' do you not understand? It's a really simple opposition policy to delegitimize your opponent and not get stuck in their rhetorical frame like ineffective idiots/ Cooperating with fascists is terminally stupid.

Their base thought they were serious enough to put them back in power, didn't they? Consistently keeping their base happy is how 👉they won the last election👈 Turns out if you do what they base wants they come out at election time. It seems to work better than chasing bipartisanship, doesn't it?

I've got your song and dance routine right here. Stop making excuses for these fucking enablers. jonathancohn.medium.com/a-tale-of-tw...
comment in response to post
No, without a majority in many cases. That's why I wrote 'attempts', many of them were unsuccessful and *this did not stop them from trying*. I'm sure you can google 'Republican legislative obstruction' for yourself, maybe one day Democrats will pick up those tactics and run with them. One day.

Why are you falsely claiming those munitions are being deployed by protestors? I do not believe you could possibly be so ignorant, you are an experienced reporter and must know full well such items are not available for sale to the public. bsky.app/profile/chad...
comment in response to post
Trying to present police munitions as having been deployed by protesters is an egregious lie. @erinburnett.bsky.social should be explaining to @cnn.com why she is trying to deceive the public with such ridiculous claims.
comment in response to post
It's well documented that they've made >50 legislative attempts to overturn the ACA, and one reason they do things like that is because it keeps their base engaged and willing to turn out at elections. I don't have time to listen to more excuses for Dems doing nothing, have a nice evening
comment in response to post
Right? I would have forgiven this in 2017 or something but I just can't see the point of sitting with a J6 financier (Kirk) and a serial crook (Bannon). They're openly bigoted and would have no hesitation about calling for Newsom's execution People need to read more history books, it's frustrating
comment in response to post
My dude the GOP made over 50 attempts - FIFTY - to repeal the ACA (aka Obamacare) and are now within a hair of achieving that long-term goal Maybe Democrats should stop worrying about being temporarily unpopular and wilting at the first sign of criticism

Can you not misquote me please The list I spelled out is a a set of legislative tactics that can be employed by the minority party. Naturally, I would not expect it to generate results overnight or to be easy or painless.
comment in response to post
I mean this isn't the first time Trump has been in office And Newsom is a governor, not some naive college kid figuring out politics the hard way
comment in response to post
Specifically, you could write to the DoD asking whether they're aware of her public statements on these issues and requesting documentation about her vetting/security clearance/appointment process that would shed light on that question. Will you do so?
comment in response to post
The Pentagon press secretary is an open antisemite, perhaps you can use your congressional powers to compel some testimony on how this lines up with the administration's executive orders. That's a concrete action you could take today. Will you do so? www.timesofisrael.com/us-official-...

Guess he got tired of doing podcasts with right wing propagandists, I'm not sure what he expected to get out of that other than alienating a lot of people on the left. Trying to be a debate bro with the likes of Charlie Kirk and Steve Bannon struck me as a spectacularly self-sabotaging move.

Every time I post such a list (demand voice votes on everything, support impeachment articles, filibuster everything in Senate, don't be bipartisan or confirm any admin nominees) people agree with it, so I'd like to know what's holding Congressional Dem leadership back.

Her blog post was mild and moderate. This would be like complaints that you ranted about foreigners based on your recent post about a Chinese landlord who tried to charge exorbitant rents. (no, I am not a fan of this actor, I just thought the reporting was very overblown after reading everything)

Protip: ALWAYS include the links so people can easily spread the media on other social platforms Linking bluesky posts is nowhere near as effective as linking direct to the original post on Tiktok or wherever www.tiktok.com/@jesscraven1...

Protip: put up links to these clips/streams so they can be posted elsewhere on social media (no, people are probably not going to click on a bluesky link if they don't already have an account here)

comment in response to post
While this is true, you should maybe refocus your attention on the blatant constitutional violation You are wasting communications bandwidth on a policy issue while the republic is entering an existential crisis
comment in response to post
But truthful Democratic opposition to Trump in Congress has been limp at best. He's openly corrupt and is openly appropriating dictatorial powers in real time, seems worth being annoyed about
comment in response to post
For the 25th time, are you willing to sign on articles of impeachment and if so, when? What is it going to take for you to say publicly that Trump should be removed from office? Why are the bribery, corruption, and abuse of power not sufficient for you? Why don't you respond to constituents?

No we're not. call me when impeachment proceedings are under way or the NG are refusing to obey illegal orders. I don't mean to be rude, but so many of these 'we've got him now' posts/articles/etc by many well-meaning people over the years have turned out to be cope and wishcasting.
