I also like this UI, the purple looks great. Switzerland has one of the strictest privacy laws, so Proton Mail does not log users’ IP addresses.

I have the same opinion as you. I don't like the UI of Tuta Mail either, and the iOS version is not as smooth as Proton, which is still the most secure in terms of technology. I don't understand why the CEO makes political remarks. I don't think it is necessary to participate in political opinions.
