Anne not only wrote a fantastic dissertation but showed that combining a young family with an academic career is possible. It was a joy to work on this project with our unconventional academic family, as Loes Keijsers put it, wit fellow Dr. Mutter (Loes) & Dr. Fatter (Jaap Denissen)

Not sure if this is useful as the paper focuses on wellbeing, but they do rely on adolesentsโ€™ insights from focus groups: www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

๐Ÿ’ฌ Our hackathon group is working on the question what the content of open text boxes in ESM add to our understanding of peopleโ€™s daily lives, in addition to quantitative items, and what themes we can derive from these data. Stay tuned for updates! #lorMITNB

I will be hiring a junior researcher soon, so stay tuned for the vacancy! @tesc-tilburgu.bsky.social

This truly is a project I was most looking forward to executing, as we often don't take the time to really include and listen to adolescents in our research AND we lack validated measurement instruments in ESM research

Having 2 babies, large surgery, and a pandemic may have gotten in the way a bit, but very proud and happy that it is finally out, 6 years after the pre-registration. Thanks to @domimaciejewski.bsky.social for being a great support, and to co-authors Yasemin Erbas, Egon Dejonckheere, & Jonas Everaert

Individuals with elevated depressive symptoms showed greater improvements in momentary emotions after using upregulation strategies, and less deterioration in emotions after using downregulation strategies. (6/7)

Surprisingly, we did not find a consistent role for anhedonia in explaining individual differences in these associations. Most interactions that were found were attributable to higher levels of general depressive symptoms, and were opposite to our expectations: (5/7)

As expected, using upregulation strategies was related to improvements in (positive and negative) emotions, whereas opposite patterns were found for downregulation strategies (4/7)
