That dress was stunning!

I'd say it's more than that. The person would have to stay awake and do full-body workouts 24/7 to get the feeling of muscles with all the juice sucked out of them.

100%. Two wise statements about openings: The whole novel is somehow contained in the page, and an opening should provide the reader with a comfortable place to be uncomfortable. Both from Justin Cronin.

There's a TARDIS in your home?

And the author continued his argument, saying Darrell was being closed-minded and everything would be cleared up by chapter 4!! At that point I laughed out loud. Darrell didn’t, but when everyone else told the guy off, he left.

Darrell is a great editor. I recall a workshop he led on a story of which, frankly, I couldn’t get past the first page. Darrell said the same thing. The author said, Well, if you had kept reading it would become clear.” Darrell said, “You didn’t make me want to. You defied my every effort.”

While watching The Umbrella Academy with the captions, the descriptor for the ruckus ouside the hotel said, "noisome sounds."

Oh yes. Têtue hijacked book 2 and became a central figure in book 3. You can recognize her from her crossed arms and bared teeth here:

People often forget Matthew 27:3, don't they?

where can I get one??

I know this one. I was tossed out of a Christian retreat organization for not being Christ-like enough... because I didn't let our visiting evangelism team hug me. Somehow I offended them simply by shaking hands while I hugged another person (who was someone I'd known for years).

I followed that strip in the papers to the very end (Yup, I'm old). Inspired me to write my own comics.

Jacqueline would say, "Zut! I'm busy." Angélique would say, "You mean this was MEANT to happen??" and bite someone.

I've been active on panels for World cons, Philcon, Balticon, Chessiecon, and a host of others. Seattle completely ignored me along with some amazing authors, old school greats, through their AI selection. Granted, I don't do a ton of horror, but I do good work, and I have shared TOC's with them.

I haven't heard bupkis and I don't appear to be scheduled for anything despite submitting a video-recorded reading. I'm not happy about being ignored.

Speaking for myself, I'm retired now, and finally able to market all I've worked on for the past 30 years! Don't despair. People who "seem to be everywhere" are either those writers who have unlimited energy and imagination or those who are fiercely devoted to marketing. It's not easy at all.

I should mention that today I'm celebrating the launch of book 3 in the series, so there's a special sale on my website.

I love writing mine! My novel series is set in 1843 France, and the two main characters tend to show up in other anthologies.
