I'm hearing a lot of "Jews in New York are scared" today. So, a couple of thoughts: 1) Jews should be angry, not scared. We were targeted with a relentless, heavily funded barrage of lies playing off of real fears of antisemitism by a man who came within 7 points of winning. That reeks of contempt.>

You better fucking SANG that song, white gal.

how can someone be so hot and so right

A message to Cuomo voters:

For @thecut.com I wrote about how everyone’s spitting in each others mouths these days, to the point that my friend told me it happened to her while she was MAKING OUT with a guy ON THEIR SECOND DATE. Wild, wild stuff www.thecut.com/article/spit...

BREAKING: Zohran Mamdani’s communications director confirmed to me yesterday that Zohran is 5’11”. Hope that helps

For @thecut.com I wrote a take I feel extremely strongly about: going outdoors during the summer is overrated. Everyone should stay inside www.thecut.com/article/this...

make fun all you want but the right is better at getting young ppl to join their movement. thats the problem. yes they may get traded in for a younger model but most times the propaganda is so hard-core it doesn't matter the women will never leave. what's the solution?

“We’re done pretending that a cubicle is more empowering than a countertop”: inside the TPUSA Young Women’s Leadership Summit, where abortion is murder, trans people are dangerous, and teen girls are encouraged to drop out of school, get married, and have babies www.thecut.com/article/turn...

RIP to Brian Wilson, who gave us many perfect albums but also the perfect interview

After her story on influencer Liv Schmidt's "Skinni Société," @ejdickson.bsky.social & I talked about why #SkinnyTok is a Trumpian backlash to wellness culture, why marketing matters (Liv's unfortunately v good at it) & what responsible influencers could do instead. Full vid: bodytype.substack.com

i like bluesky because people click on links and read my work and fewer people tell me to kill myself here. and i learn new stuff about how people have sex every day

A few years ago I worked for a men’s magazine and edited this writer who was a biohacker. He would take any gas station dick pill or inject anything into his dick or do anything to his balls for like $500. Anyway I just saw on IG that RFK Jr invited him to give a presentation at the White House

We’ve done the horseshoe on eating disorders oh my god “She uses language that frames choosing not to eat as empowering, even feminist. “Eat like you’re the main character. Because you are,” www.thecut.com/article/infl...

NEW from me: #SkinnyTok influencer Liv Schmidt is making an est. $100k a month from the Skinni Societe, a group of girls encouraging each other to starve themselves. I joined the group and found at least 15 members who are still in high school. Here’s what else I saw: www.thecut.com/article/infl...

Whom amongst us

NEW from me: Bill Belichick went to support his GF Jordon Hudson at the Miss Maine USA pageant because after the disastrous CBS News interview it would have "looked worse" if he didn't go, a source familiar with their relationship says. (She placed third.) www.thecut.com/article/jord...

NEW from me: I spent the weekend at the Miss Maine USA pageant chasing around a VERY annoyed Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson, his 24-year-old girlfriend. I also met a Navy vet bodyguard named Dutch, gossiped with drunk former beauty queens, and got yelled at a lot! www.thecut.com/article/jord...

If you’re curious about Trump’s new surgeon general nominee Casey Means, I wrote about her for @nymag.com. She didn’t finish her residency in med school, which is cool! Also very cool she thinks hormonal birth control is a “disrespect of life” www.thecut.com/article/case...

NEW from me: I talked to people who went to A Million Lives, the so-called "Fyre Fest of BookTok." Apparently 500 people were expected to show up and only 30 did. Also, the entertainment at the "Lavender Romantasy Ball" was a security guard holding a mini JBL speaker. www.thecut.com/article/mill...

David’s a great editor and a lovely person and this thread of just a few of the genuinely news-breaking stories he worked on with very few institutional resources while at Daily Dot makes a really strong case for bringing him into your news org.

The Daily Dot was a magical place. I was able to write whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. Everyone was talented and hardworking; no one had an ego or was territorial. We worked our asses off to build something cool. I met my best friends there. I cannot emphasize enough how grateful I am for it.

Really sad. Andrew's right. Fantastic writers & editors came out of Dot, including @ejdickson.bsky.social. (Why I only worked there for 4 months is a story I'll tell another day after a couple of rum drinks ...) If anyone at the Dot wants advice for freelancing, reach out anytinme.

RIP to The Daily Dot. I still appreciate this 🙇🏻‍♂️

The Daily Dot—a site that helped define the internet era and was a launch pad for me and a ton of your favorite journalists like @marisakabas.bsky.social, @ericgeller.bsky.social, @asankin.bsky.social, @kevincollier.bsky.social, @williamturton.bsky.social, @kateconger.com & more—has been gutted. RIP

New Power User episode out with @ejdickson.bsky.social talking about how tween podcasts are climbing the charts, landing major brand deals, and what this means for the next generation of podcast stars.

SCOOP — The US sent Iraqi refugee Omar Ameen to Rwanda via new diplomatic relationship in which they've agreed to act as a "third country" for deportees unable to be safely returned to their country of origin, per cables reviewed by me. This is first reported instance. Cable indicates more to come.

I love the swinger buffet lady, she looks like Fiona Apple and her vibes are totally off the way all swingers’ vibes are and it’s soothing to me

"The MD Foodie Boyz say they’re already seeing tons of imitators, including some kids in their school who have started their own podcasts. But they’ve failed to recapture the lackadaisical charm of the original."

NEW from me: why do so many little boys have podcasts now???? An investigation: www.thecut.com/article/twee...
