When Obama came on the scene, I told my husband (we were both Hilary supporters) that Americans would vote for a black man before they’d vote for a woman. Still true. And now they’ve shown they’d for for a lying, sociopathic, dumb but cunning conman before they’d vote for a woman.

I’ve seen “let’s chat” notices aimed at researchers in the US posted from China, EU countries, UK, Hong Kong and Singapore. This will be the biggest brain drain since Nazi Germany.

Stay out of DC. Don’t let them count you as part of the “big beautiful crowd.” Don’t spend $$ there. Let DC be empty.

Don’t feed the beast. Quit watching, quit responding, quit reporting, quit mentioning, quit watching “news” channels that give them airtim, boycott sponsors. Leave the cult to its echo chamber.

BTW I do “step out on faith” on religion. But not on science, politics or historical evidence.

These are people who have applied the “stepping out on faith” aspect of their religion to all other parts of their lives. Don’t waste time with facts, logic or reason.

The people you are talking to have proved over and again that neither facts nor reason convince them.

Seems like reminding Vlad of what you’ve done for him is not a good tactic.

Every memorial day, I post on Facebook the names of every one from our small town who is listed on the Viet Nam Wall. The 12 young graduates from the high school are known to all of us, and most of us knew the families of the older Air Force officers stationed nearby.

Hazel Ying Lee died in WW2 WASP service at the same as her brother, a tanker in France. Their parents had chosen cemetery plots in “white section” of the Portland OR cemetery. So they were initially denied the burial of their fallen veterans. www.nationalww2museum.org/war/articles...

Our younger scientists will be able to raise their families without the stresses of maintaining their health insurance and “saving for college” and active shooter drills. Both health care and university are low cost/no cost in the EU. They may not even need a car. Much less stress.

After Trump’s lying, unhinged reception of South African President Ramaphosa, it is clear that despite the horrors of the colonial past, Europe is ac”natural partner” now. China the less natural choice.

Ted Cruz is not a birthright citizen of the US. He was a birthright citizen of Canada, having been born there (He supposedly renounced his Canadian citizenship in 2016). But Cruz is probably a “natural born citizen” since he gets citizenship from his mother- he did not have to be naturalized.

I agree that the French had terrible leadership and ridiculously bad management. But they were reasonably well armed and had good tanks. Just no clue how to use them

None of the millionaire donors would put up with “consultants” as ill prepared and inept as Musk’s tribe managing their company - firing staff willy nilly then having to hire them back. But it’s OK to run the US government that way? A huge waste of tax payer $$$$.

I think the Royal Scots would like a word. Both French and BEF units were in the rear guard. And over 100,000 French troops were evacuated. But German accounts particularly credit the Royal Scots.
