Did white armed militia ever violently suppress domestic slave revolts? Then they were needed. Did they ever repel a standing American army? One fear he talked about never happened; the other fear did and they responded. Yet you still deny slave revolts as a major reason for the 2a? one was correct

Yes. Why is this a problem for you if you read history? Unless, like the founders, you prefer to conceal uncomfortable parts of your history.

You should realize one doesn't exclude the other. Universal fears of a standing army didn't prevent slave states from fearing massive slave rebellions, especially watching Haiti in 1791. Why would you deny this?

I'm reading actual history. You're reading white nationalist history denying slavery's role in major decisions though it was the moneymaking engine of American capitalism which grew the nation faster than any other in history.Plus their twisted religious views justifying it still around today.

Bs. Half SC was descended from colonists fleeing sugar islands from slave revolts. Haitian revolution 1791 scared rbe sh*t out of em and they were always worried their militias would be controlled by the pres and hinder their defenses. Threatened ratification over slavery.

The southern states threatened not to ratify unless slavery was protected (electoral college, 3/5, 1808, etc..) Of course slavery was a major interest for half the nation. Of course northern states had interests too-not denying that. But 2a major components were militia against slaves & indigenous.

what? Never said that. Just that the Dec of Ind points out slave revolts were a massive concern of the time and that drove the 2nd amendment adoption, especially seeing Haitian revolution in 1791. S Carolinians were descendants of wht colonists fleeing slave revolts. 2a was def partially for that.

The Dec of Ind pointed out inciting slave insurrections which were a constant threat colonists who came or descended from colonists from the sugar islands feared. Who called her out? Them patrols were real & needed. Try again

Read Thom Hartman "Hidden History of the 2nd Amendment" or Ellie Mystal "Allow Me To Retort" Or Carol Anderson "The Second". Or read the constitution. Don't waste my time with your empty claim bs when you can't even disprove my o.p.

We Americans should only vacation in other countries and boycott red states when possible. We gotta target MAGA in general as they're the danger.

Truth. But it will trigger civil war first. Amazingly, patriotic, conservative murikans will fight for Russia against the US.

Sadly you are spot on.

And wait for the job losses in the defense industry. NO ONE wants US military equipment anymore. We have went from the envy of the world to a rogue nation in 2 months. In 4 years we are going to be blockaded by much of the world. This is so stupid.

I, too, feel as if I'm losing my mind! And why are we STILL arguing Social Security AND the "national debt" in same breath? Attacking Social Security is a SHAMELESS SCAM!! The retired, disabled, widows, should turn over THIER $$ to save our country, rather than raise taxes on the "RICH" Sickening

Working people are being warred against by a class of owners who are happy to kill them with these methods, all to save a tiny amount of money for themselves. Fight back.
