I actually found my old throwing stars a few years ago in a box of stuff from my mom's basement when she moved. I immediately went outside and threw them at a tree. Turns out it doesn't get old.

There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men both immediately jump to mind.

So much of alt-right or neo-right or (insert their current anodyne identity here) behavior boils down to a) wanting to behave like an asshole; but b) not be treated like one.

We need a new Pope! Assemble a selection of somewhat doughy round-faced old white guys with silver hair for me to choose from, stat!

To be fair, that is the hardest gear. But seriously, if you work moving cars around, there's no exhaust not to learn how to drive a stick.

The average person probably doesn't need to know how to drive a stick. But if your job is driving and parking cars, you should probably have that tool in your box.
Ran into this three last vacation with hotel valets, and I gotta say, it's ridiculous.

You know corruption and bribery are two different words, right? They overlap, but aren't synonymous with each other. One can behave in a corrupt manner without being proven of taking a bribe.
This isn't hard. At least, not for most people.

The door handle on my tailgate occasionally sticks a bit. My buddy's car had a wheel fly off while he was on the freeway.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
No cars are perfect. That's the lesson I took away from that.

The last pope was lauded as a hero because he basically had the gall to say we should probably give a shit about poor people, and be hospital to refugees. Other than that, the dude still championed ideas from the middle-ages.
The bar that gets set for the Pope is incredibly low.

My initial reaction to seeing it was "Oh. It's a van."
I've driven vans, and while some are comfy and nice, and almost all are practical, I can't think of a time one was fun. I hoped this would be fun, and maybe it is, but it doesn't look like it. Just looks like a big old van.

I spent a couple hours in a VW dealership two weeks ago getting our car serviced. Had a chance to walk around one and take a really good look. And I agree with you. Way too big.

A monster striving to be better than their nature is a hallmark of fiction.
