I’m done with this - but I’ll leave you with the unarguable fact that stuffing words into the mouths of people you debate with doesn’t make those people own those words or the opinions you ascribe to them. Work on yourself and your victim posture.

Well, if you’re going to get things ass-backwards- you might as well do it spectacularly. MAGA is as wrong-headed as it’s possible to be but the premise is far from flimsy as over 70m American Idiots will gleefully attest. Try again, Rover.

Reagan was told what to say by Nancy and Nancy was told what to tell him to say by her psychic.

My position is entirely defensible.
WTF has MAGA got to do with this? Are you projecting now that I’m a Trump voter?

Believe who you like, I’ve never claimed anything other than my right to express and opinion. YMMV

You say being Otherkin isn’t a mental health issue, I say I believe it is. I will stick to that.
comment in response to

No, I’m not. I’m as opinionated as you are though.

You appear to have forgotten you told
me you were an anthro-hyaena. Fundamentally it’s one thing to publicly claim to belong to a demographic and then get butthurt when that’s referenced later. I remind you I haven’t been horrible to you or the anthro-hyaena community nor am I winding up to that.

I don’t think it’s wrong to have opinions on things that don’t directly affect me.
My motivation is for people to be safe, and I don’t think that people running around believing themselves to be Dragons (*not* just dressing up/larping/yiffing) is healthy. These people should be given help.

Don’t go tarring me with other people’s insults. I am not responsible for that, and haven’t attacked you.

Who, TBH, might as well be considered fictional, would typically in receipt of professional mental health support were they to be public about it. Ergo, people convinced they’re Dragons, Manticores, Mermaids, etc are pretty much in the same zone, are they not?
comment in response to

While role play, in whatever form, whether that’s Cosplay, LARPing, BDSM or the Furry community is entirely healthy and a natural thing for people to do there is a blurring at the edge when it comes to Otherkin. As previously mentioned, people convinced they are religious figures
from antiquity. /2

“That never happened” isn’t the flex you think it is, I’m talking about lived experience here, and you’re shooting blanks.

Project what you like onto yourself, I am neither responsible nor adding to anyone’s self-loathing. Don’t act faux oppressed when I have done nothing to victimise or oppress you. That’s not me, not how I roll

Yes, I do. I met the guy, he stayed at my home with his boyfriend. At that point he decided he was in fact a ring-tailed lemur, like I already said.
comment in response to

Do you feel it’s entirely healthy to be convinced you’re a fantastical being trapped in human flesh? Cards on the table? Yes or No?
comment in response to

Where’s the contempt? You’re somewhat adept at projecting onto yourself, aren’t you? I am simply relating information about people I know, who I’ve met.

Belief is a powerful thing and the basis of the Western Magickal Tradition in changing the world according to will. However, while believing one is Otherkin is a thing, expecting other people to accept that as empirical fact is far different proposal. This is the tension at the core here. I don’t.

I’ll believe anything you say when the first Otherkin identifying as a Gungan (I knew one, he latterly decided he was a ring tailed lemur. He was the b/f of Fuzzy from Sweden, the Wolf who built his own fursuit and then decided he was a Polar Bear.). You may know these people from Confuzzled.
comment in response to

You’re seriously suggesting that people, like you, who fervently believe they are fantastical creatures trapped in cruel cages of fleshy human anatomy, really are in fact, fantastical creatures after all? And it’s ME that’s advancing falsehoods? Who came out and *proved* themselves a Dragon?

And just for clarity, I don’t consider there to be any contradiction in transsexual people getting gender reassignment surgery because they “believe” they are inhabiting the wrong body. Pathology has shown MtF trans women have a corpus callosum of comparable thickness to cis-women.
comment in response to

That’s pretty much how it goes, it’s called expressing and sharing opinions. Yours may vary, as already established.
I reiterate my question, what’s stopping you from doing as Dennis did, and getting cosmetic surgery? (Not a trick question.)
comment in response to

I’m uncertain why you’re
endowing my opinions with such importance, I’m just a fucking internet random and you’ll note I said I wasn’t out to attack anyone. Including you.
The fact that I know who Dennis Avner is and his tribal name should give you a
clue that I wouldn’t.

You can be anything you want to be. I cited Stalking Cat, to no acknowledgement. Why don’t you follow his example if you feel this strongly?
comment in response to

Like I said, I have opinions about mental health which are clearly different to yours. I’m not behaving hypocritically because I can separate being-in-roleplaying and believing. There’s a differentiator for me between wearing a dragon suit and believing one is a dragon 24/7 without it. #YMMV

Fine - don’t dream it - be it.
Dennis Avner did it. You’ll not I’m not calling you a freak for wanting to do so because my body is modified too, and there’s nothing special about working in DevOps either…

I’m not out and about on social media to attack or persecute anyone but I have a right to opinions about the world, and mental health that are different to yours. You may consider me strange for holding opinions about the seen and unseen as “occult.” I can live with that.

What’s unhealthy about *believing* you’re a fantastical creature trapped in human form? You tell me…
What’s unhealthy about *believing* you’re Krishna, Jesus, Hanuman?
Are you telling me that you think any belief that anyone has about themselves is ok? Fine if you do, I don’t feel the same.

I know what a Saturday Name is, I know what Confuzzled. However au note there’s a dividing line between Otherkin and Furries, don’t pretend there isn’t. I’m not here to hate on anyone, but equally I’m not going to pretend that being convinced you’re a Dragon trapped in human form is healthy.
