SOS self-published authors HELPPP… I am stuck in an endless loop trying to verify my ID on KDP. I’ve tried multiple ID types, scanned images, different devices… Just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue and found a solution?

I write in the mornings. And most mornings it’s SO hard to stop doing the thing I love and switch over to doing the thing that pays the bills. Any benevolent benefactors out there want to bankroll me so I can quit the corporate grind and just live in imaginary worlds all day?

I’ve become one of those bulletin board writers and there’s no going back now. I’m so hooked on this process. #SkyWriter #BookSky

In 2025, I’m stepping away from social media in order to complete a year-long writing program, finish my book, and start the querying process. Buckling down and running the final stretch toward my dream of becoming a full-time published author. Wish me luck?

Y’all ever think about how in the movie The Santa Clause, when Tim Allen shows up at the North Pole as the new Santa, none of the elves seem to even care that old Santa literally fell off the roof and died? That’s messed up.

Shoutout to my neighbor who decided to mow his yard at 7am on the first Saturday morning of my Christmas vacation. 😅😩

in today’s episode of The Mundane Adventures of a Novice Novelist, the aspiring author ignores his work entirely to take approximately 100 photos of his cat sitting on an ottoman shaped like a mushroom.

I remember reading the opening story in this collection when it was first published and audibly gasping at the ending. Truly, @mlensheffer.bsky.social is a voice you don’t want to miss out on. This whole collection is a treasure trove.

was in the middle of writing a scene when my computer decided to restart and install an update for 15 minutes. the devil works hard yall…

it’s the little hunchback for me honestly 🥰

in today’s episode of The Mundane Adventures of a Novice Novelist, the aspiring author reluctantly does his “real job” so as not to be fired while also keeping Scrivener open on his iPad for when those little nuggets of inspiration hit. follow along for more tips and tricks. ✌️

tell me you’re a writer without telling me you’re a writer. i’ll go first, my spotify wrapped is just lofi beats and movie soundtracks.

on today’s episode of The Mundane Adventures of a Novice Novelist, aspiring author and professional procrastinator learns that absently formatting and reformatting his novel notes for an hour actually does nothing to increase word count or move him at all closer to the finish line.

sat down the other day to start outlining a new novel idea only to realize i forgot how to outline a novel.

channeling my seasonal depression into exercise (which will be promptly canceled out by toxic overconsumption of christmas tree cakes).

happy “let’s circle back in the new year” month to all who celebrate.

that felt really, really good.

he ONLY gets cuddly in the winter but you know what i’ll take it. 🥰

This little writing mantra has been really helpful for me lately. “Make it meaningful.” It’s SO deceptively simple but has helped me keep things focused. For example, does your MC have a hobby? Why that hobby? Make it meaningful to the story. Do they have a quirk? Why? Make it meaningful. 1/3

“When it’s over, the silence feels like after a prayer when the pastor says amen, the congregation all whispers and slow movements. High on a holy presence so thick you can almost taste it.” @tbq.bsky.social tacobellquarterly.org/the-migratin...

idk what i'm doing over here. are the writers and readers here?
