BYD seems like an economic problem for them too, considering China's willingness to flex on its markets. But I don't think Tesla is ahead in battery innovation anymore. And the US isn't doing itself any favors in tech and science fields right now.
comment in response to post
Not sure if that is possible anymore, at least outside of the US, where BYD is killing them. Tesla had every opportunity to go for affordable, quality, and sensible.

I agree the information bubble is the immediate problem, but from first hand experience people in MAGA circles live extremely unexamined lives. That is a foundational problem.

Good if it will hold... Was just in a meeting where a bunch of stupefied execs were struggling to not say that the totally shit first quarter is his fault. Too stupid to vote against it next time though.

Those darn Butlerian Jihad sympathizers.

👀 I kinda liked the stouter head from the drawings more.

OnePlus is still a thing? It appears they aren't done trying to emulate Google and everything their original target market hated about phones.

Haven't seen aired television in like 10 years except for public spaces having it on in the background. Maybe a sports game now and then. Why are TV personalities so cartoony and unnatural?
comment in response to post
Not with LLMs they aren't. It will be a problem for labor but not the jobs that drive innovation and make us competitive.

You need educated people to produce tech in the US. We're doing everything we can apparently to cause a brain drain.

Tomatoes... In the form of sauce on pasta. I do like kiwis though.

I've been hoping for a better ecosystem from Proton and I've been disappointed. They need to treat Linux as a first class citizen to their products, and the "office" suite is severely lacking.

Verizon has always been the most horrendous of the US carriers. That will never change. Take your pick of evil and deal with it. There is no alternative.

Complicated specs make me worried about implementation vulnerabilities more than the protocol itself.

Does he believe this stuff? It seems malicious and intentional to put people in charge of things who will destroy those things. Maybe he does. Maybe it's just to convince people to support the grift of stealing from public funding.

Fear. There is zero chance Biden would've vindictively attacked media outlets in court and financially from every angle possible because... he wasn't a tyrant.
comment in response to post
He's paid to use sciency words to convince uninformed people to let them steal public funding, not to make sense.

Micro-transactions and achievements to fund the war.

They probably do... The problem is figuring out the ignorance from lies sometimes.

He'd only use Rods from God, obviously.

Really scraping for sycophants I see. Not enough to fill the thousands of vacancies.

It's not just space exploration but the huge amount of research and technology that comes out of their programs that filters down into our society. Science and tech have great ROI for any nation.

This... It reeks of being a honeypot.

He will luckily not be successful in making people like AI as friends. About as successful as Meta's VR world was anyway.

Does he think we can just film Dune on Ohio?

I'm keeping it on the list... For later.

In grave danger of..? Have you been listening to him in podcasts for the last 4 years? Water colored language like this is the problem... People are not alarmed enough.

Yeah they would really hate to have all the extra customers...

I want gang members to still have a day in court... Whether they are gang members or not. Why is that the argument he is making? Because he knows his voters don't actually care about law and order maybe? When will the farce drop. Just say "we don't want a democracy anymore."

I autocorrected to "HAL effect sensor" in an email to coworkers... Because I've typed HAL (hardware abstraction layer) a good number of times and my phone learned it. Feels bad, man.

Unfortunately authoritarianism is on the rise globally, and the hardship of climate change is not going to alleviate that.

I think it was in the Eragon book way back where I read about mages snipping a tiny nerve in the brain and insta-killing 100 people. I realized then that supernatural powers are never well thought out anywhere, especially in Hollywood.

I fully endorse this obvious torture of Trump, pretending to be human.
