He also says:
"Also one thing is, I would only ever play 1 competitive game at a time because of how time consuming they are
And I would probably choose an FPS over a Fighting game
They're just much less tedious to practice"

I asked my friend this question now, whose a big gamer but doesn't really play fighting games (watches tournaments though)
"My biggest issue would be that I simply don't find them fun enough for how much time they require
There's too many other games that are more efficient in times of fun / time"

Well yeah, I wasn't saying that, but there's so few fighting games that have gore that I wouldn't have thought that would be a complaint about the genre.
Anyway, I can tell you that as someone who plays a lot of fighting games seriously, I too don't bother with fighting games that have gore.
comment in response to

What is your definition of a fighting game? Because there's really only one IP that focuses on gore and that is Mortal Kombat. There's some gore in Samurai Shodown, but the vast majority of fighting games have no gore at all.

There was a similar reaction to Jake Tapper's book

I didn't say she was showing proof. I'm saying she is there, saying what she is seeing. She has some reason to believe what she said. But the assumption right away from people in the comments is that she's wrong (lying) and should be fired, like a knee-jerk reaction to inconvenient truth(if true)
comment in response to

She could also just be mistaken, not necessarily lying.

"Tool for the right", I despise most of what the right does. The problem is that some of the reaction from the left is just giving unnecessary ammo for the right.

Wasn't that what Erin Burnett was doing? She was there at the riot, claimed based on what she saw that there were protesters firing and showed the different bullets from the police ones. And people who weren't at the riots immediately called for her to be fired.
comment in response to
post
Actually, I do blame some protesters, the ones that felt like they had to set police cars on fire and loot. I suppose the looters usually don't care about what is actually being protested though, they just come in and loot when there's chaos.
comment in response to
post
I didn't "blame" any protesters, just saying that some people here are acting like it's not possible that some protesters may also be firing.
comment in response to
post
If you watch the video here, she shows the difference between the police bullets and the other bullets.

No, because cars obviously have many other purposes besides killing people .Guns have only one purpose, to kill (either people, or animals).
comment in response to
post
Guns are far far more effective at killing people than knives.
comment in response to
post
So you are saying that it is impossible for any of the protesters to be firing bullets? Even though you aren't there and she is?
comment in response to
post
Because the video that has been shown about Erin Burnett is purposely cut off to mislead people. This is the full video.
www.cnn.com/2025/06/09/p...
She is showing two different rubber bullets. You don't think it is possible that at least some protesters are firing too?
comment in response to
post
Do you seriously believe it is not possible for at least some of the protesters to be firing something?
comment in response to

Deceptive video. This is the full video:
www.cnn.com/2025/06/09/p...
There are different rubber bullets, the ones fired by police and the ones fired by protesters.
comment in response to

No, both are.
Your argument is not supported by studies. You say that aren't here for "easy answers", but what you're giving now is a misleading oversimplification.
comment in response to
post
You don't think it is possible that some protester could be firing rubber bullets too?

What are you talking about? Where in the article is it talking about whether they were peaceful or not? You people that attack CNN are just embarrassing yourselves. They are simply reporting that there are protests and that there are clashes between protesters and the police.

He will just say that they were patriots that were persecuted by the democratic lead DOJ at the time.

I see a lot of people in these comments expecting CNN to be making moral or even legal judgements, but that's not their job as a news organization. At best, they could refer to some expert's opinion on the matter, which they sometimes do.
comment in response to
post
On their shows, they bring on a number of guests which discuss what you are referring to. Their articles are more about just stating what happened, not whether it's morally right or wrong.
comment in response to
post
They are just reporting the news, whether you like the news or not.
comment in response to

Go away then, why are you here? CNN is just reporting the news, whether it's news you want to hear or not.

I wasn't really agreeing with his comment, I don't even know the context. I was just referring to the reasoning you provided.
He has some generalization of furries based on his experience and he felt like whoever he was responding to fit that image. And you seemed to have some image of the fgc.

Ok but don't you think you are doing the same thing by saying "typical fgc headassery?" Just like he may be thinking "typical furries"?

I agree, there is no value in having these phonies being interviewed, and if they are, they need to be challenged on every false statement they make. CNN anchors are often treating these people as simply having a different opinion, but it's not that...they're just blatantly lying.

I'm especially disappointed how they keep getting Nier wrong in every patch.

Well I do think that too, but there is only so much your brain can take in when it comes to matchup knowledge and optimal combo routes before it gets completely overloaded. That is my problem right now.
comment in response to

Yes. I notice a lot of people are very tribalist regarding what fighting games they play. I enjoy most of them and welcome them being very different from one another. It's just really hard to balance so many of them without sacrificing your skill level.
comment in response to

I think it could be very valuable if you can get coaching from a legendary player though...I'm talking someone like GO1, Fenritti, Tokido, Xiaohai. They would need to be that strong for me to consider paying them.
comment in response to
post
For someone to charge for paid coaching, at a minimum, they should play matches with you, then go through your vod second by second, to pinpoint all the problems, and then answer all of your questions. But again, there are strong players that will do this for free.
comment in response to
post
Now it's true that sometimes you can watch a high level match and not know why some players are doing what they are doing. The problem is that I almost never see people ask questions about why top player did what they did at some timestamp of a match. I wish people asked more questions.
comment in response to
post
I'm also against paid fighting game coaching. Many fighting game discords have people that will vod review for you. I also notice that for many people asking questions in the discords, when you ask them if they've watched high level play of their character, they say they haven't.

I thought Strive's idea of doing a 3on3 team mode was pretty interesting for that.
