it really fucking is something you can't get around. the path to dem victory, in the minds of the leadership of the party itself, is in large part "my opponents will decide to be nice to me and do what i want for no reason in particular".

I don’t think it’s a magic bullet, I just feel it’s ludicrous that we are speaking in hypotheticals because the democrats aren’t doing it. Some just voted to pass the GENIUS bill in the senate for goodness sake.

We have no way to know that, now, do we? But also, even if they still passed (and likely they would), they would have taken longer. Delaying anything this administration does IS harm mitigation.
