It's fun to go back and watch OG Gundam, where everyone is just like, a character in a story and not these mythical figures with decades of baggage attached, and every little movement and bit of dialogue has this calculated weight to it. It's cool when they were just people.

One of the first mecha BL works shown at Comiket was from a rather large Grendizer FC. Daimos had such a massive community of both fujos and non-fujos "shipping" that Tadao Nagahama funded events where they could meet up and make friends. I don't think its fair to say the latter due to Gundam imo
