I feel like people were pretty easy on Marc Andreseen before his MAGA turn? People mostly hyped him for his donations and vague YIMBY takes, he was never a target of widespread mockery like Musk or Bezos. People have only really started hating him this year after he turned to Trump.

Will never forgive certain urbanists for carrying water for this idea or thinking that selling off public lands will somehow lead to new dense, walkable cities

And white LGBT people and cosmopolitan liberals have far more culture and meaningful identity than exurban evangelical cons.

I think this is the key to conservative pathology - all culture, heritage, and history has been subsumed by capitalism, and the alienation they feel is redirected at minorities who continue to exhibit culture and history.

In my area anti-trans activists are a small group from town to town giving public speeches in front of children venting their weird obsessions with porn and what other people are doing in bathrooms, when they're not physically threatening trans allies. Maybe the NYT should critically profile them?

By shifting to international funding best practices, we can achieve: - Meaningful service improvement for riders 🚆🚴‍♂️ - Reliable union jobs in the office and the field🧑‍💼👷 - Rapid climate action 🌲☀️ - Savings for taxpayers 💰💰 Let’s do it!

Yeah they're not perfect but I'm talking big picture here

Of course, this poll indicates that at least some immigration reform is less unpopular than critics of The Groups claim.

Bingo. The dumbest, most demobilizing left coded politics discourse plus aesthetic content about how great homemaking and traditional femininity is.

Free transit, imo, is a persistent demand in the US context for 2 reasons: 1) given the state of project delivery, candidates believe they cannot credibly run on transit service expansion. Cf. other countries where parties/office seekers routinely promise to build a subway, tram, new station etc

We need TV in the general format and beat of cop shows that are about union stewards investigating grievances and workplace safety violations.

I'm big on the "female TERFs are closeted, self-hating transmascs" theory. They just seem to hate women and being women so much

Nah the abridged version (at least the one I have) edits out a lot of the utopian social democratic aspects of George's arguments and makes him seem like a right-libertarian. And George is a much clearer writer than Marx - if you can read Capital, you can read P&P.

I would humbly suggest a third required reading

Outside of sports arenas, like a lot of things (including/especially public restroom access) this is a form of hostile architecture stemming from antagonism towards homeless people. Some are very determined to keep homeless people from accessing water.

We need literal sewer socialism 🚰🚰🚰

My concern is that YIMBY and now 'Abubdance' are increasingly being used as a shorthand for pragmatic market centrist rather than any sort of commitment to zoning or permitting reform. And Abundance is a much vaguer term than YIMBY.

To be clear, Barbara Lee wasn’t much better and that’s why EB4E declined to endorse in the race. But there’s a strange tendency for outlander moderates to project housing bona fides on lukewarm to bad housing candidates.

"All sex is rape" isn't literally true but it describes the conservative view on gender. In this view marriage gives women a measured amount of protection against Men, in exchange for submission to a particular one.
