Another big point being missed: between deployments, daily work, and duty, being pulled away from your family for 2 months for a political stunt never sits well with the troops. Same with that stupid parade, marching in the hot sun for a draft dodger who never served.

I am very glad to hear that the President has told law enforcement they are not able to wear masks anymore during these operations.

As Hannah Arendt said, the belonging is more important than the lies, even if it damages one's self interest.

Making people care that they are being lied to is also key. It is easy to expose the lies of Trump and other populist politicians, but people want the lies. Even when those lies are against their material self-interest. Like the X-Files motto, they want to believe.

Simpler summary in WaPo: “Apps on your phone are walled off from accessing your activity on other apps, including web browser apps like Chrome. Meta and Yandex found work-arounds.
The techniques essentially were akin to malware”

“…they know they are absolutely getting cooked politically w their terrible bill and rising prices, and they want to create a violent spectacle to feed their content machine. It’s time for the mainstream media to describe this authoritarian madness accurately.” —Sen Brian Schatz #DictatorTrump

Not really, no. There are 11 combat divisions in the US Army. The Marines have 2. It would take FOUR divisions just to hold Portland, which is vastly smaller in population and area than Los Angeles. They don't have enough troops for what you describe, period. LA, NYC, Philly, Chicago, etc...no way.

The thing the past 5 months have convinced me of is that these people are 1️⃣ powerfully lazy and 2️⃣ huffing their own farts They don't have the intelligence, logistics, or capacity to do martial law

Not to mention 85,000 veterans who were fired by DOGE. The idiots in this regime created a small army of trained soldiers with an axe to grind against them.

And how would those soldiers feel after seeing veterans’ benefits cut, Afghans who helped them at great risk lose TPS, and their fellow soldiers and leaders who aren’t white men be fired and mistreated?

I think the military has about 2 million soldiers. There are 330 million Americans spread across 3.8 million square miles.

Quick search: There are approximately 720,652 full-time law enforcement officers in the United States as of 2023, according to Statista.

Seriously. They do not have the personnel, much less sufficiently motivated personnel, to pull this shit off
