If you think audiences are dumb and lazy, who will only gravitate towards the easiest accessible thing then you’re exactly like all these studio CEOs who’re failing to make money.
If you have respect for the audience and make good art, people crawl over each other to experience it.
It’s a fact

There’s a lot of dismissing going on in your statement above and I don’t have the bandwidth to list every successful movie.
But comparing TikTok to movies/tv/games is like comparing streaming a song vs seeing live music.
So much easier and cheaper to stream. People go to live music anyway. A lot

That’s different from audiences turning away from movies. And the biggest hits in the last few years have been new horror movies, Barbie, Oppenheimer, Sinners, and even Minecraft is brand new IP with a fanbase that hasn’t been served.
People will always crave good entertainment and seek it out

TikTok is not in competition with movies, tv, or games. Audience go to different mediums for different things.
You don’t read a comic book because reading a book is too much effort. They’re different mediums. Different experiences

Except the approach the studios are taking is the exact opposite way to attract an audience.
You don’t get more views by dumbing down content. You get attention by being captivating and engaging. And you keep that audience by keeping that audience effort up

I saw this on TikTok this morning. She seems to think that men suddenly started taking helicopters into the jungle to find authentic meals.
90% of Bourdin’s show was him going to a cafe and chatting with the cooks. Wtf is she talking about?

Does it have to be space? Could it be a world that’s mostly underwater?
If so, the novel I wrote fits this

My favorite part is where the lead character says Forest Whitaker gave her a “loaded blaster” as a child.
Blasters….need to be loaded.
I know that’s not really an issue with the movie but it is incredibly funny
