The aging Boomer population? The youngest Boomers are over 60, they either are already in leadership or never will be.

I *have* missed the Weekly World News. And they already have a perfect Bat Boy replacement in Stephen Miller.

I bitterly hate that you’re correct, but that doesn’t change the fact that you are.

One of my favorite pieces of doggerel:
Republicans whine and
Republicans bitch:
“Our rich are too poor and our poor are too rich!”

IANAL, but that’s exactly what I said to my spouse when the Supremes handed down their immunity decision, and several times since. I’ve occasionally wondered how prominent attorneys I admire feel about their life’s work being trashed before their eyes.

Senator Padilla was detained because he was brown and had the temerity to talk back to the white lady.

It didn’t spawn in January; that’s when it was unleashed. ICE has always had some who acted like this, just not very often so it mostly went unnoticed. But now they’ve been given the green light to do it with impunity.

It does, but the post is freestanding without context.

Can you tie ‘em in a bow?
Can you throw them over your shoulder like a Continental soldier?

@hcrichardson.bsky.social agrees with you. She specifically used the word “coup” in her Thursday Politics Chat video.

I said the same about Dan Patrick when he said grandparents should be prepared to die so they could reopen the schools. “You first, fella.”

That was my remark after the first video, “Looks like Lord Farquaad’s long search for a wife has finally come to an end.”
And, hey, schtupping a Lord is a definite move up from the AF General she *allegedly* carried on with.

Then we had a nice chat about differences in masks, importance of fit, etc. It’s been a long time since I evangelized.
I always try to approach folks w the attitude they’re good ppl, I’m sure they understand our situation, would they mind masking? And it works. Maybe not forever but long enough.

In my house, today.
Had a tech guy make a house call. I explained that Spouse & I were masked because Spouse is immunocompromised and asked if he wouldn’t mind… He said he had one in the truck, but was happy to take the N95 I offered. “This is nice, not hard to breathe in.”

When my kids were young (during the Dubya days) I had to explain this to them. Basically, a third of the electorate is set is stone on any issue and it’s a real miracle if you can crack that.

If there’s no gift link or if you have trouble with one (I often do with WaPo links) Archive Today (aka archive.ph) can be very useful.

Liz is traumatized by witnessing her cousin’s death. His mother (played by Katharine Hepburn) is so desperate to keep the truth hidden that she wants to have her lobotomized. Handsome young surgeon Montgomery Clift saves the day and gets the girl.

There was a primary. I, and my whole family, voted in it. It was in the papers and on TV, I don’t know how you could’ve missed it.
We voted for Joe and his chosen successor, the woman who became our Presidential candidate when Joe stepped down. That’s how it works.

To be fair — and how much I hate doing that for him — Jake dated Monica exactly once. And, IIRC, it was before she even interned.

Private dining? Somebody is doing the cooking. Chauffeured cars? Somebody has to drive them. Luxury suites? Someone has to maintain, prepare, and staff them.
Those somebodies are regular people, who will all be affected by this bill. They aren’t as safe as they might think.

You’re right. We all saw the Death Panels when they convened, right? I mean, I didn’t but I was probably just busy that day. Surely the GOP was telling the truth they existed, which is why we all remember that phrase to this day.

Those people wouldn’t know a principle if it punched them in the face.
Although, now that I think about it, we couldn’t really know that without multiple RCT studies. Somebody let RatFucKJr know so he can get those started.
