It’s important to understand that our mayor is attempting to stake some sort of claim that his response (not going to the scene, claiming he was asking questions and “getting the facts straight”) was somehow superior to his challengers, who actually showed up to help community members.

Yesterday, as masked federal agents armed with assault rifles descended on Lake and Bloomington with ICE in tow, Mayor Frey was nowhere to be seen. However all three of his main challengers were on the ground at Lake and Bloomington standing with community, showing what leadership looks like.

For 5 years, Mayor Frey, Rondo, Amelia Huffman, and now Chief Ohara have lacked control over their subordinates. They've bent over backwards to appease the rank and file. Raises, bonuses, allowing them to be Tesla vandal detectives, etc. They continue to pander to the MAGA rank and file.
