Gazdag is also one of these, unfortunately

I read that as “we would have to overpay for a 9 and that’s not in the budget”

In garbage time. Maybe 80’.

My understanding is that the flag lady has certain values, but chief among them is making money.
Which is to say… I too am a bit surprised! But I’ll be *pleasantly* surprised if it’s there past July 2nd.

If I’m being generous, I assume they intentionally declined to put Wahoo on Thome/Lofton’s hats. So they do have a floor, but I guess I hoped it would be higher.

I was going to counter with one I liked from the last few years but then I looked at our recent history and… woof. I hate this but even at like a (personal) 3/10 you’re right that it’s better than anything lately.
I personally like the goo kit but beyond that it’s probably back to these?

You’re 100% correct. I’ve come around on a lot of jerseys (the 2012, the For Columbus, etc) but I hated that style of piping in the early 2000’s and I still hate it.
I also just don’t get the concept of the template here. That yellow patch surrounded by black makes people look hunched over.

I love the 2012 also! I think the top horizontal panel on this and the 2006 Jacksonville jaguars-esque piping on the sides is very bad

The language seemed very specific about not bringing in a 9. I thought it was very telling that he *didn’t* deny anything about bringing in an attacker.
He couched it with the bit about “every player on the pitch needs to finish” but that felt like a misdirect imo.

Yeah that’s nuts! Nagbe was incredible tonight.

I would say rank Issa Tall’s acquisitions but I like you so it’d be mean to subject you to that.

You could literally see him float between multiple players and second-guess himself. Gotta be tiring. But we’ve yet to see any of those Farsi/Santos/Morreira-esque 50-yard recoveries that really earns people’s attention.

As much as I think the “system” thing is a dumb excuse for a guy who’s botched multiple attempts at an open net, I do wonder if it affects the work rate thing. I was watching him closely on defense and he was putting in work on the counter-press, but he clearly had no idea what his assignment was.

He had a nice pass or two tonight, but otherwise I totally agree. Pedro did become a fan favorite, but besides the 2020 playoffs, was always a bit enigmatic and inconsistent. I can see a similar path for Gazdag.

I know these are both tongue-in-cheek but they are also weirdly onto something

Agreed with all of this. I think Cheberko was supposed to be that young CB but he hasn’t put it together consistently.

Yeah after their first goal I placed a throwaway bet on 5-2 Charlotte and tbh I probably should have hit. Hagen played very well after he calmed down.

I say “implosion” sort of tongue-in-cheek because our defense isn’t *bad*, per se. But it’s much worse than last year and we’ve benefitted greatly from poor opponent finishing.
