I live on a cattle ranch in the South. I love reading, gardening, and reading about gardening. But I could be here for the politics.

These masked men in camo and swat gear are meant to intimidate. Right now they’re intimidating the immigrants but it won’t stop there

Because of course, elementary school graduation is a lure for dangerous MS 13 gang members and international terrorists.

We closed the schools. We made the best decision we could with the information we had. We need to have a plan in place for the next pandemic. And sorry for getting your name wrong.

Jennie, I don’t know the answer to that question. But closing schools was not without risk, and we are still trying to catch up. Everything like this is risk to benefit. Both options had risks. Both options had benefits. How do we weigh them in the future?

Covid 19 is a corona virus. Other corona viruses exist and cause colds.

I think it was a mistake, but an honest mistake. We didn’t know what we didn’t know.

Of course! A formatting glitch! That explains everything!

I can still hear my mother calling our names for supper.

Those cannot be ICE officers. I can see their faces.

Long term employment with an employer that offers insurance benefits.

I think he is genuinely obtuse.

Astounding. In the rural community I live in, a job “with benefits” is the holy fucking grail, and just as elusive.

That he can do a cartwheel at all shames me. Forward roll was the limit of my gymnastics skills.

Exercise doesn’t kick my endorphins into place either. The only time I ever felt endorphins was during labor and delivery, and my labor and delivery days are over.

Yeah, she makes up shit all the time.

It’s the intimidation factor that enrages me. I watched a video on Bluesky of ordinary older Americans standing up to a bunch of masked, camo wearing ICE agents, shouting “Shame!”, and it made me proud

And even though Target is being demonized by the left right now, their personnel policies are supportive of gay and lesbian and trans employees, and protective of women’s reproductive rights. They may not be talking the talk, but they’re walking the walk.

JD Vance is supposed to be 6’ 2” tall. Google says Pete is 6’0”.

Phallocentric, is that where the guys slap their dicks out on the table? I cannot stop laughing.

Northanger Abbey. The only Austen novel I never finished.

Me too.

That sounds heavenly, and I’m envious. In my subtropical rainforest, opening the windows lets humid warm air, mosquitoes and pollen into the house. But the dawn song is the same.

I see a strongly worded letter in the future.

I think you are forgetting Mao and the cultural revolution.

Wow, tooth fairy? Condescending. Contemptuous. Dismissive. Rude.

Gorgeous ceiling. Reminds me of the house I grew up in.

But the pitiful thing is MAGA really thinks federal grants are being given to make mice transgender. You can fix ignorance, but you can’t fix stupidity.

All I can say is please send those kids to my house and I’ll pay them double.

Clever is a bit of a stretch for the GOP. And you’re right about the chances of that happening

Intelligence and ambition can devolve into hubris very easily.

The 1918 flu epidemic as well, since flu vaccines were not developed.

She is smart. I known her since she was at UA, where she was SGA president, then Richard Shelby’s chief of staff, then the CEO of the Alabama Business Council. But she’s sold her soul to MAGA and it disappoints me greatly.

Mt Rainier is also reluctant to pose.

I’ve administered vaccines for years. People tell me constantly that flu shots gave them the flu. Also not true.

She’s not stupid at all. She’s smart and ambitious, and knows what it takes to feed the beast in Bama. Don’t underestimate her.

Alabama is ecologically diverse. Mountains, prairies & beaches in one state. Birmingham has a great restaurant scene, Mobile has the oldest Mardi Gras celebration.Beaches are gorgeous, fabulous hiking in North Alabama.Civil Rights trail is first rate. Robert Trent Jones golf courses are great too.

Actually, prostate (not prostrate) cancer commonly metastasizes to bone. Bone metastases are by definition Stage 4. Because his tumor is hormone sensitive, hormone suppression will slow progression but does not offer a cure.
