Is it not possible for the mayor to exercise authority over the civilian police under her city's jurisdiction?

How about telling the LAPD to stop helping ICE and meeting with protestors?

Are they trying to melt ICE now?

Just do nice things for people and stop being a Nazi and I bet more people would like him.

Is that MAGA slang for "I have a small penis, but I would like you to think it's actually big"?

Seems like some of us aren't too far removed in behavior from our cousins the chimpanzees. Maybe we could gain some insight into MAGA behavior by watching Chimp Empire on Netflix?

Sometimes resistance isn't perfect. But, it is better than none.

What it seems they really want is to make our country "tribe" in the image of their religious/racial tribe.

Makes sense. Both are tribalistic, in-group behaviors. And, if you're the kind of person who accepts things without evidence (i.e. faith), I would guess you'd be satisfied by, and/or prone to, simplistic thinking on race as well (e.g. people that don't look like me are bad).

The courts can find it unconstitutional (which it is) and strike it down.

I've told my wife for years that most people are stupid. She kept decrying that view as off-putting and counterproductive. After this last election, I think she finally agrees.

I used to root for Starships' success. Now, I hope they explode.

It's also unconstitutional, since it violates separation of powers, no?

This is one reason my family and I have spent most of our time since election becoming self sufficient.

It's also plainly unconstitutional.

Or maybe the other countries are anti-MAGA, *because* Trump is not toxic (yet) in the US?

Yes, but it doesn't matter does it? Those who are OK with all of this have no shame. And like Chris Murphy said recently, most Republicans are actually OK with the authoritarianism.

This would be the part where states prepare to defend themselves. Blue states combined have far more economic power and wealth. No taxes to feds. Start working with state law enforcement and guard.

What's lost in this discussion is how much the asinine Electoral College has played a role in the tyranny of the minority. How many times have Republicans lost the popular vote? There are far more many moderate and left of center people in the US then elections suggest.

Some of us just want to know what to do as a coordinated effort. We the people can resist, but the opposition is working in unison.

I think a lot of us just want ALL our leaders to do what James is doing. Rally us to flood the zone, throw sand in the "gears", fight back against ICE in the states, withhold money from the feds, etc. We want as much good trouble and righteous shit thrown at the Nazis as they are throwing at us.
