It will be a race to be the first to fact check it.

Yeah, now is the time for peace... immediately after you just bombed someone.

I see your double entendre there... and agree with both.

You notice he doesn't say who he gets his "better" intel from? What demented RWNJ is he putting ahead of the entire American intel community?
comment in response to
post
Wait, they actually still believe he puts America first? That he will reduce the debt? Wow.
I thought they were just hoping he would be racist in office.
comment in response to

To be fair, that was his entire reason for running on the first place.

They aren't hired for intelligence.

Covering what comes out of Trump's mouth is a waste of time. It is either lies, fantasy, insults, threats or grifting. The loss to the public of never hearing about it is ZERO.
Stop covering him. Cover people who say meaningful things.

This will happen more and more... until it is routine and doesn't make the headlines. Then worse stuff. Etc.
Trump's fascism timeline will accelerate once the mid-term blue wave starts to become more defined. He needs to be done the takeover before there is a Legislative branch with a spine.

If we have to have a senile old man running the country, seems like the one who isn't fascist was better at it.

Why should politicians address this? It does not affect old white rich men much. Are these women political donors? Maybe then.

Yes, a few days ago.

I don't think anyone is saying the current system of trade could not be improved. It is just that the 5th grader approach is not a good idea and will actually likely have the reverse effect.
comment in response to
post
It's almost like international trade is very complex and taking a bat to it is a bad idea. Who knew?!? (Hint: everyone but Trump, Navarro and Witkoff).

They can ask. Congressional members should take this as an indication that giving notice is NOT wise. That is, there is stuff they want to hide.
comment in response to
post
Anyone who thinks they will pull back (rather than lean in) to thus early aggressive behavior is dangerously naive.
Fascism is pretty much dug in to 2/3 of the branches of government. That is not a good number.

Now if only the MSM would catch on.
comment in response to

They show a willingness to quietly murder people in alleyways. Not necessarily their intent, but the vibe they want to give off. A vibe of "be afraid, even if you have done nothing wrong".

Why are Dems in Congress not forcing this issue? Whining about it does nothing. It is a frickin' POLICY. Last I checked, Agency policies don't negate the LAW.
Show up, bring cops to enforce the law, arrest ICE agents when they break it. Repeat. Finish it in court.
comment in response to

And bring a court order, or cops to enforce their right to inspect. Arrest a bunch of ICE agents for breaking the law... every day.
For a large part, they only have power because it is being ceded tp them.

It is better than him acting. He is saying he has no intention of doing anything, but if they resolve it within two weeks he wants the credit. And if they don't... ANOTHER TWO WEEKS!
comment in response to

I am a little surprised at Trump. His obsession over his reputation and legacy should give him pause... if he is wrong about climate change (97% of scientists think he is) he has a good chance to become the most reviled person in history. 100 years from now, that is all they will remember him for.
comment in response to

Lots of hell being raised. Media does not cover it well ... it interferes with their 'Dems are useless' narrative.

So it's the church's fault I don't have a flying car? Grrrr.
comment in response to

I am sure they preferred it that way. Too much gas is passed whenever he managed to grunt his way out of a sitting position.
comment in response to

Exactly. That is what "two weeks" means... TACO.

Uh oh, someone sold the Trump Org an abandoned asbestos mine.

I thought they called it an "anomaly". Don't get all dramatic and call it a "catastrophic failure and explosion". It was just an anomaly followed by a sudden, unscheduled disassembly.
comment in response to

Why bother? If he succeeds with his coup he will certainly be building a huge presidential palace. Or move the WH designation to Mar-a-Lago so taxpayers can fund a billion dollar reno. Or (more likely) both.

Maybe it is secret intelligence from Israel... the same intel Netanyahu has been using to claim Iran was 'weeks away' or 'a few months away' from having a nuke since 2005.
comment in response to

He might not be sleeping. He may just be thinking "boooring! Maybe if I start a war with Iran I will have an excuse to leave early."

Petty little child.
comment in response to

Pedophiles and other child abductors are loving this. Who could tell? They just yell, "ICE! Stand back!" and drive off with the child.

Yeah, but they ramped up the fascism, and their disrespect for the Constitution evolved into hatred. So... they are not stuck.
comment in response to
post
It maybe much ado about nothing. All indications are the GOP incompetence at governing and passing legislation will kill this bill.
Then again, their cowardice when Trump says mean things about them can be quite amazing. Constituents be damned!
comment in response to

They were not there for the riots. That was a pretext. That will become clear as they stay.

But this makes it seem like Trump lied to take credit for others' efforts and aggrandize himself. Surely that cannot be accurate.

I am guessing part of the reason to hide their identities is to hide their total lack of qualifications and training, and perhaps their backgrounds associating with 'certain groups'.

This will be another failure. He has shown he is only good at grifting and stoking hate... his utter incompetence at business remains.
comment in response to
post
Back then, it was just a hail Mary to avoid yet another bankruptcy by campaign fundraising. Then he actually won and found out just how much money he could grift, and how addictive it was to have people pretend tp respect him for once in his life.
comment in response to

No doubts here.

Ummm, yes they can. Power means not having to follow the rules you set.

I think you are mistaking this for the pre-fascist American government of last year.

Perfect summary of his life, actually.

In retrospect, that meant 'it would be so much worse'.
