Of course we need solutions. Of course we need to improve fire/flood/hurricane/tornado/earthquake/volcano/blizzard protections. We don’t do that by telling individuals they should have known better when their lives are in rubble.

I don't doubt this is true for some folks. My only concern is that we normalize the absence of note-taking which is beneficial for most people.

I’d love to see more conversation about underlying beliefs and less about moment-by-moment decisions that seem irrational within a conflicting belief system.

If we’re going to continue to function as a pluralistic society we must go deeper than sound bites that allow us to ascribe others as evil because their actions don’t fit into our worldview rubric.

Lots of people say they believe one set of structured beliefs but their behavior tells us otherwise. Regardless, beliefs are still there even if they’re unknown to their holder.
