They're good at keeping a low profile, but I often get recommended their accounts because of being in Texas and interacting with the same queer accounts. Frustrating, as we really do need help down here, so their irresponsibility hurts a lot of people by decreasing trust in our orgs.

Notably, they've gone through many accounts and handles over the years on Insta, Twitter, and now Bluesky, but their donation links have always been the same. Strange behavior if you're trying to build a fundraising base for a credible organization.

They are a shady org with a history of doxing people who ask questions. I donated in the past before getting bad vibes. As a Texan, I've never seen any credible local orgs actually work with them (aside from the occasional blind reshare)

also... subgenre/predecessor is progressive country. Largely Texan, more focused on singer songwriters, and lot of beer and crass humor with hippie undertones. Or modern artists like Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childer, Charlie Crockett

Outlaw country, genuinely:
Jerry Jeff Walker
Willie
Waylon Jennings
Johnny Cash
Kris Kristofferson
The Highwaymen
a lot of progressive messaging in a mostly masculine fun package. Certainly has its issues, but a wayyy better starting point. I always use it to make inroads with conservatives

Also, you might go down a bunch of wierd rabbit holes online or in media trying to find something relatable which can give you an eclectic taste lol

Trans identity is a rejection of the world as you are born to see it, in favor of a world and body authentic to a singular vision for yourself. It requires that you accept anything can change or be changed (sex, family, community), a mindset which when applied to art and culture is pretty useful.

Y'alls conversation about not propagating the anger you experience in childhood was some of the most raw and relatable stuff I've ever heard in a podcast— it's a hard thing to face, and even harder to be open about. It's heartening to know that temper can ease, even if the forgiveness is slow coming

plus.. they still want all the benefits of a pluralistic society, just without having to acknowledge that the guy making them tacos at 3AM is someone with hopes and dreams too (and on average, a much more interesting person)

Well this hypothetical scenario would fix Texas politics, removing one of the main complaints often cited by Texans moving to CO. And while I understand the issues Texas has (as a queer person fleeing it soon), affordability and diversity are a couple reasons people would choose Texas over Colorado.

If Texas could draft one more liberal city the state would flip... Denver/Boulder is already filled with culturally-ethnic Texan and lies firmly in our historical territory... we can offer them actually good Mexican food as an incentive

Of course, they would've had to also not go republican and scare off the massive immigrant base in Texas by trying to out racist Abbot.

God he's so trash. Cisneros was so exciting to vote for... and way more representative of San Antonio politics! We could've had an immigration attorney in congress—somebody who could've helped dems messaging in the border districts they instead lost to trump...
