We are getting places folks! Code coming soon!

A reminder: there is no singular "algorithm" here. Just saw two separate posts of people falsely claiming "the algorithm" is suppressing certain types of content here. But things are different here. You get to choose your own damn algorithm. Or make your own. bsky.app/feeds

It was because I forgot how to write SQL

@baileytownsend.dev are you planning on open sourcing your Rust firmware for the TRMNL? Was considering hacking together a firmware in the future that uses the Raspberry Pi Pico as the base MCU instead of the ESP and wanted to use some of your work as a reference!

IRS’s Direct File wasn't open source while it was being developed. But somebody just made it public!

Got a TRMNL talking to my Rust server but something is weird with auth, sounds like a tomorrow problem.

Been writing too much Python/JS, went back to Rust and forgot how types and macros work

Still in awe of how great Terraform really is. I have had to redeploy an entire environment this week with almost no hiccups (and the ones that exist were my docs, not my code).

Kinda want to build an Ampere machine as my work horse home server. 64 cores with a kickass GPU could be fun for experiments on highly parallel workloads.

Is your open source project built on a foundation of trust and security? 🛡️ Strengthen its future with essential practices like MFA, code scanning, safe dependency management, and private vulnerability reporting. 🔐 Learn how to implement these to protect your project and users with this guide. ⬇️

GitHub MCP suffers from the lethal trifecta for prompt injection: access to private data, exposure to malicious instructions + the ability to exfiltrate information Be really careful with this stuff: attackers can trick your "agent" into stealing your private data simonwillison.net/2025/May/26/...

Alright, got the setup and display endpoints done so in theory I should be able to display an image. Will test soon but things are looking good!

Not really loving the options when it comes to self-hosting a TRMNL server, might be time to build one in Rust. Gives me an opportunity to use Leptos too.

Don't talk to me of React guardian, I want no part

I don’t need to rewrite my blog in Svelte, I don’t need to rewrite my blog in Svelte, I don’t need to rewrite my blog in Svelte But SSR for my Bluesky comments integration would be really nice and easy…

Early morning hike calls for an early morning waffle!

Extremely cool to see support for stuff like this in experimental software forges! Huge props to the @tangled.sh community on building cool software!

This is super cool to watch, love seeing people hack on some hardware!

If your test for ground-breaking discoveries can’t detect the discovery of RNAi, or of CRISPR-Cas9, or the cryoEM resolution revolution or Alphafold2, maybe it’s not a very good test. www.nature.com/articles/d41...

Friday reminder to have an excellent weekend folks!

Went back to my SvelteFlow project after a few weeks and now that the Svelte 5 version is out, I have to redo a ton of my components because they managed state differently under the old version, not what I expected to be doing today 🤣

All they have to do now is automate gerrymandering, redlining, or any other discriminatory practice to avoid being held accountable.

I really need to stop putting Linear everywhere, but I do really want to put it on my @usetrmnl.com 😂

Been hacking on this Astro + Svelte project to help amplify computational chemistry projects and I’m super excited to share it with you guys soon!
