What a Mensch.

Big thank you to all poll workers today. Some sites are not air-conditioned. They are working a very long day to ensure we can have free and fair elections.

Before you say “yeah but nyc is a liberal bubble” please remember that in very recent history New York had Republican mayors for 20 STRAIGHT YEARS (Giuliani and Bloomberg). This campaign is amazing and deserves respect. Period.

Zohran kicked his ass in Brooklyn, by the way.

I have a bad feeling the DNC isn’t gonna get this at all.

I love all your cities. Truly. And yet, this city is the best. Go, NYC.

Wow. Forget 52-48 after the last round of voting. This might end up closer to 60-40 after the last round. What an unbelievably well run campaign.

I’m starting to believe my astrologer friends about revolution.

Younger voters and volunteers, you did it. Holy shit, you did it.

Zohran’s lead is growing as day-of votes come in! Wow. A little less cautious a little more optimistic.

This is almost 40% of the vote. Cuomo should be winning by the end of tonight, but if he’s up by less than 5 after round 1, it probably means Zohran will win in later rounds. Compared to 2021, turnout was slightly up in BK and Manhattan, down in Queens, Bronx, SI. Cautiously optimistic rn.

It’s an incredibly ripe moment for new strategies and approaches to electoral reform. The Democratic and Republican parties are both failing. We need a new electoral system which will allow for more parties to get representation in Congress.

Two hours left to vote in NYC! As of 6pm, compared to 2021, Turnout looks to be slightly higher in Manhattan and Brooklyn, and lower than 2021 in Queens, The Bronx, and SI. Can’t predict a thing, but would rather be Mamdani than Cuomo (for oh so very many reasons). EVERY VOTE COUNTS!

This happened to a co-worker’s sister. She lives in Harlem and voted in Harlem in November but was told she had to go to an Upper East Side precinct that’s from a three-years-old address.

If this has happened to you today, get in touch with us at [email protected]. Read more on our live blog: hellgatenyc.com/hell-gate-ny...

I have been saying this since November. @workingfamilies.org is the future.

AOC is quite on point with this.

This really tells you the story of past, present, and future.

I’m a Buddhist, which means I’m on Team “if you gotta drop bombs, the leader of your country probably doesn’t know what the fuck he's doing."

Just so everybody understands, it is very likely that Cuomo will be leading tonight after the round 1 results, whether he eventually loses or not. Here’s a good guiding metric:

This should be obvious but intergenerational trauma hijacks the truth. If you want to be safe, work for the safety of those who are more in danger than you.

We gotta listen to young people. They’re the ones who will live with the consequences the longest. If you want to build a sustainable org, you have to inspire the ones who will be with the org the longest. From a business perspective, the fact that the Dem party does the opposite of this is suicide.

I don’t need to tell you what the news media would do if a non-republican president did this, but we don’t really have a news media so…

This is even more lovely and heartwarming than the Cuomo campaign is cynical and ugly.

It would be so nice to see an election that conservative billionaires tried desperately to buy but couldn’t because they were out-organized by young progressives. It really would be a game changer.

Like so many elections around the country, today is about organized money vs. organized people. I believe people will win.

They sure sure are. It’s a party in the midst of self-destructing.

Vote for Zohran Mamdani. ✊🇺🇸

Vote today until 9pm NYC! And stay hydrated and in the shade! www.vote.nyc/page/find-yo...

Honestly can’t fathom explaining to a high school civics class the idea of a policy having a 5% approval and still somehow being allowed to happen, yet here we are.

NYC is the safest large city in America. It’s almost like he’s trying to get Fox News viewers in Florida to vote for him. May this utterly cynical and ridiculously expensive brand of politics go down in flames tomorrow.

The sewage water in the Gowanus Canal has endorsed Andrew Cuomo.

Supreme Court is giving “we’re not getting out of this without nonviolent revolution and a totally restructured federal government." It’s a very 2025 vibe.

Mamdani really deserves to win tomorrow. Truly.

This is 100% true. Have literally never seen a local campaign this well organized. Whoever runs campaigns with this type of messaging and this type of ground game wins the future.

Every new idea is “unrealistic” until it happens in real life. That’s the literal definition of what it means to have a new idea.

I hope these dudes face accountability for ruining lives when this is all over.

NYC’s next mayor will either be a young, dynamic progressive whose campaign basically did every single thing armchair pundits said Democrats need to do to recapture the electorate, or…Peter Thiel’s chosen candidate! 2025 really knows how to work in extremes, huh?

This makes sense. If Cuomo is not very close to 50% by the end of round 1 with a very wide lead, he is in trouble. Please contact any low frequency voter in NYC you know and tell them to vote TUESDAY. It matters tremendously. Everyone is watching this race. No more billionaires in charge.

Meditate today, even for just five minutes. When the world is hot, find coolness in the brief spaces in between thoughts.
