Ice Cream in the Woods WILL return somehow, someday. Maybe on a narrowboat? ;)
(Not the originator of my username. But a loving tribute to the one who did.)
Here now because of fomo.

I know such exist for *phones*, and it seems the search term is "busy light" - www.zoom.com/en/hardware/... for example.
No idea about a generic.

I quite enjoyed that 1st episode and am looking forward to more, and I have exactly one word for you for discussing the evolution of ERL in the 20th and 21st century:

But why do you think this is acceptable behavior?

That’s a fascinating bow! Try really hard to never run into anything or you’ll go right through it…

It’s not an official tool, but “PocketTube: YouTube subscription manager” is a great browser extension for helping with that problem.

A friend who still works for the fed notes that their at-risk datasets are petabytes in size and thus hard to copy elsewhere.

I know it’s pointless to confront you with facts, but puberty blockers do not sterilize a person. They have only temporary effect until they are stopped.

I don’t believe that everyone behind all of the alt gov accounts didn’t see this coming.

There’s a fediverse photo sharing app… um… Pixelfed
Not a recommendation, as I don’t actually use it, but it’s there.
I’d expect it could be gatewayed to bsky.

And yet I still dream of doing it. :)
But as a middle-aged guy, it’s getting harder and harder to believe it’ll ever happen :( Emigrating to the UK from the US is hard enough when you’re younger…

I’ve been wondering for weeks now, wasn’t it obvious this was going to happen? Hopefully all of these data sets have already been backed up offsite??

A year ago, I wouldn’t have believed that there could be anyone whinier and more vendetta driven than #HairFürher, but the #swastikar maker has definitely put the lie to that.

I only ever listen to OTM rarely, depending on my weekend schedule, so being able to listen to the podcast version is a good thing for me.
I have trouble believing it was ever one of their top shows.
Without the podcast I’d never be able to listen to it
I’ll do so over the next day or 2. More then

(I'll 2/2 the previous one when it shows up so I can see/reply to it)
YES, this absolutely is a big issue.
And a very true statment about the future we're facing.
I just DON'T get how "making more content than can be broadcast so distributing it differently" is the issue.

Quite honestly, if your point was anything other than 'podcasts are bad', I DID miss it. Because all?most? of the content that was on NPR broadcast is still there, so taking out podcasts means that there'd be LESS.

Thing is, they’re still making a full day of programming, so the podcast content is, in some sense, extra - perhaps even bonus - content?

Because few people listen to actual radios anymore, especially in the desirable demos, AND no one has the patience anymore to only hear something when it airs.
As well, podcasts enable the production of FAR more content than can air in a day, every day.
