Word of the day, from Pennsylvanian Dutch, is ‘ferhoodled’, meaning ‘tangled’ or ‘all mixed up’. Can be used of anything from a sock drawer to life.

I'm sorry but @shelaghfogarty.bsky.social is completely wrong in the case of Tommy Robinson. The customer offers to purchase the service and the provider holds the right to refuse or to cut service at any point given is not because of protected characteristics. Being a racist is not one of them.

Ah. Despite the mischievous headlines I didn’t say this was now standard English. Rather that ‘mischeevious’ (which used to bug me no end) is an example of how, for centuries, English-speakers have often moved the sound of words to something more familiar. www.thetimes.com/uk/history/a...

Anyway, it's been quite a week! Sincere thanks to everyone who has bought Notorious and been so supportive on here! It's been a blast.

They never cared about facts, reality or the effects #Brexit will have on the country's ability to look after its own citizens. Client journalists that signed up yo lick Tory boots will never be sacked for it, would they? Sad times.

Interesting listening to @mrjamesob.bsky.social in the third part of the show today. I'd also add to his "tying up" today's 3 subjects the new trend of "living in a van" that is being promoted a lot on YouTube to young adults. It's very socially distressing to see it, while sugar coated.

All dedication requests welcome!

‘Fear drives them to vote right... it’s a knee-jerk reaction.’ Proud British-Israeli caller Mark, tells ‪@mrjamesob.bsky.social‬ how, despite public opinion, an ‘extraordinary’ number of Israelis want a peaceful solution to the conflict.

Another proof that competency is not the key skill required for these positions, but rather a malicious intent which shadows even the Constitution.

Fun linguistic fact of the day. We used to speak of 'messagers' and 'passagers' before they became 'messengers' and 'passengers', since they were borrowings from French. Speakers in the Middle Ages decided to throw in what linguists call an 'intrusive n' to make them easier to say.

Imagine complaining not having full access into EU after leaving it... and then face the reality that EU countries always had the "control" over their borders... How are these people allowed to broadcast on a radio station like @lbc.co.uk

Just a minute ago @nickferrarilbc.bsky.social asked to stop using "betrayal" on @lbc.co.uk , the next minute he invites a former secretary to start off with... you guessed it: "betrayal" and Nick didn't even dare challenge the wording...

www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m... currently struggling to work up a sense of betrayal at the news that my food might be cheaper and my kids better able to travel around Europe

“You’re very rude to me, aren’t you?” “I am very rude to you because of what you’ve done to my country.” @mrjamesob.bsky.social is less than impressed with Brexit voter Richard.

The U.K. fishing industry - weaponised & then betrayed & then abandoned, by Johnson, Farage & the rest of them - is better off under Starmer’s deal than it was under Johnson’s. That’s not an opinion. It’s counting. Anyone claiming otherwise is a liar.

I sometimes think @nickferrarilbc.bsky.social says stupid things on @lbc.co.uk on purpose... but then there's times like this morning that makes me think he's rather simple minded. Comparing ordinary families to the Royals, or that babies not remembering stuff stands for a counter argument...

Never saw this coming…😩 www.theguardian.com/society/ng-i...

The world needs brave voices to rise - so others can find the courage to rise too💫 #savedemocracy #speakup #resist

Another lying caller Mark, reached out to @nickferrarilbc.bsky.social on @lbc.co.uk : "I never been on social media, I'll never be on social media... Social media is an ugly place" How would he know?

Just a reminder for any member of Congress who seems to have forgotten...

And there it is.

I wonder what they'll use to educate future generations with? Oh wait, I see what they're doing: they don't want them to be literate to understand what's going on. I understand now.... Sadly.
