‘Sit spots’. When ill in bed for 4 months, I took the time to sit & truly observe. In 10 mins, 1 hr,24hrs, a wk, a month - that window of pavement, human interactions & the natural world changed dramatically. Sitting & opening our senses,we learn so much, & about ourselves. #Senses #ActiveListening

Pondering, how trauma informed practice can help a person to understand how a past trauma, one off or ongoing, can cause certain behaviour &maladaptive responses. I highly recommend reading up on it, as a 💡 moment for me into understanding people & my own behaviours better & make changes.

This message is for all those sufferers of misunderstood illnesses & particularly long covid, it is very real. Yes the mind has a part to play, but it is secondary to the brutal physicalness of this chronic illness. Will leave you in peace now & have a sleep.#LongCovid #InvisibleIllness #Empathy

Then the unwanted visitor arrives, which you have to dig deep and accept, and let them in, and then you have no idea how long they’re going to stay so you have to lay some boundaries down for them & hope the stay won’t be long. Also you have to keep zen & not let this visitor get to you. #LomgCovid

Lots of things in life fit the description of this unwanted visitor but this long covid one definitely seems to want to be my friend and whatever I try, I can’t totally close accounts with him/her! #LongCovid #ChronicIllness #ChronicFatigue #LongCovidKids

I’d describe having LC is like having an unwanted visitor arriving on your doorstep out of blue who you thought was never coming back again as you’d kindly & clearly sent them on their way. This time you have a sense they on their way but you don’t want to listen as you’ve been having a lovely time.

Having another LC flare,a few say with kindest intentions, maybe I’m like them menopausal, seasonal disorder or motherhood, so as politely as possible I’m explaining this never ending gift from April 2020 & how I can just about slide my feet to bathroom in this never ending game of snakes &ladders.

Explaining I’m channelling all my battery power into this moment, so yes I seem okay, is hard for some to understand, as it can be invisible.Be with me for 24 hrs & speak to me & watch me try to walk &talk when I’ve used up my batteries & you’ll start understanding how debilitating it is. #LongCovid
