I've been using Discord on and off for over 5 years and I find it miserable. It depends on the community. One community may be jumping, another might be a ghost town. But the UI/UX is pretty bad. It's a shame that so many writerly things are tied up in it.

I find Google's search, news and YouTube is better when I sign out of my accounts and experience without all the baggage the algorithm heaps on me. It even hides the AI overview when I'm not signed in. It's a noticeably better experience.
