Like saying North Vietnam was on a nuclear escalation trajectory by shooting down B-52s that were carpet bombing them

It’s a good point. Perhaps Fetterman is motivated chiefly by spite and these bitter grievances he has against perceived haters in the press. Perhaps he’s unwilling to give his critics the satisfaction of a resignation, despite however beneficial it might otherwise be.

As far as I can tell there isn’t a single aspect of being a Senator that Fetterman enjoys or takes seriously. It all seems to feel like a burdensome waste of time to him. Why does he want such a job, again? There’s so many other things to do in life.

I like all those things too Dani. And I like the rule of three. But there might have been a few other factors involved - and not all of them so shiny and pretty

At this stage, why does anyone go on these visits? You’re just going to be railroaded and insulted, subjected to a bunch of dumb internet conspiracy theories, everyone will leave angry and get nothing out of it. It’s a total waste of time.

A mysterious time traveller accosts you in 2005 and warns: “By 2025 things will have gotten so bad Allahpundit will be selling you on a democratic socialist for president”

Take this for example. This is great parody. Elon unfollowing Scott with the tears streaming down his face from his 8th grader bedroom - “I thought you were friend!”. But…it’s real.

Prove it in court. Oh you can’t huh? Let him go. These are the extent of your options. There’s no “let’s sentence him to life in a mercenary’s gulag and slanderously demonize him to the press” option.

It’s amazing how many people we elect president who are happy to admit they’re pulling decisions out of their ass. You would think people would look at the disastrous decision making of Bush, Trump and Biden and conclude, wow, governing by gut instincts is a really bad way to do this

“Imagine” being the vital word. And its not hard, as somehow our entire politics has come to revolve around the mythology of this imaginary loser

How is that bait? Among all the other terrible stuff he has done this week, saying he wants to overturn the Constitution and rule for life has gotta be high up there, man. I don’t think that’s some red herring distraction you can safely ignore

This “destiny of humanity” stuff with Musk. The moment he deploys that you know you’re being told we have to do something stupendously idiotic like build an airbnb on an asteroid

There really is something new under the sun. And for the US to somehow accomplish this, is a foreign policy failure of truly biblical scale

One of the things they all acknowledge is this was a kind of messaging attack. Purpose was not to take out military targets (they disparage Biden for doing this) but to send some kind of intimidating signal to the Houthis about power. Safe to say that mission objective failed.

Yeah, but he’s talking about within the Signal app itself, not an external hyperlink

Over caution. He said he was convinced he was being targeted by a sophisticated deception campaign up until the end and was afraid to click on anything.
