(My 3-year-old neighbor had never had them fresh before. Neither had her dad. I love sharing my garden! But I don't have enough to share with everyone on the block, so clearly I need to grow more next year.) 2/2 #GardenSky

Legend and Glory never cleaned a messy bedroom with snap circuits all over the floor, I bet, but they probably built something really cool with them.

Probably not. Kids are unimpressed by that stuff.

suddenly it had an anus again - and dung beneath! - but most importantly to my friend and me, they had DUNG BEETLES cleaning up the mess. This was perfect, as far as we natural science nerds were concerned. Our teachers were less enthused by the poop jokes our classmates kept making, oh well. 2/2

For a long time, the African elephant in the rotunda of the Smithsonian Natural History Museum had its anus carefully sewn shut, because children should not be exposed to poop, right? My best friend and I giggled about it periodically. Then they did some work on the elephant's area, and 1/2

Where's Quince's buckle, if they're gonna do this.

Klaus is engaging in SO much malicious compliance right now, and it is utterly delightful. I giggle every time I look at his expression.

And if you end up in jail and you do not know the person, assume that they are a cop. :-/

Children with major presentations due tomorrow that require a frantic trip to the craft store just before closing....

The framing is delightfully similar, particularly the gentle strength of Audrey's arm around Harvey vs. the absolute chokehold Abigail has around Tom. It's a really striking contrast between how emotionally functional the Crescent Lake pack is vs. the pile of unresolved DRAMA that is the Yardleys.

My library didn't have it in the system yet. How rude! :fixes that:

I was going to say - I think the Post is having a moment where they're afraid they're losing relevance with the left and are having a bit of a tantrum about it. But that's not because of a change on the left...

Hmmm. Proof that, as usual, computer (parts) are unreliable.

And now I'm earwormed again, but it's for a good cause.

We've replaced Slick with Folger's Cuddles - let's see if they notice.

Right. Does she need the small, precision flamethrower, for burning down small but extremely annoying problems, or the great big splatter damage flamethrower, for making the problem belong to everyone all at once?

My grandmother's house had a great big vaulted ceiling in it, which was much wider than it ought to be, and a roof that was much flatter than it should have been for the snow load that came down on it every winter. We used to say the roof was held up by faith.

Here's your Evil Mom Club card, you're clearly doing it right. 😁

Yeah, it'd be better if my windows were taller.

And then on discovering that my double-hung windows can't open wide enough up top to accommodate a second fan, I think, "Oh, server rack fans will fit, I'll just have to make a case for them." #thereIKitbashedIt #SysadminSolutions 2/2

This is the cherry tree netting frame that I made with Makerpipe. The arbor was too small, obviously, but it inspired the construction of this.

Just as long as there's no Amontillado down there...

Humans have to use tools to move dirt, we're not built for it. You, on the other hand, are a spectacular digger.

I'm guessing your brain is currently running very hot on the new schedule, and until it gets its groove back, you're going to be a bit flattened. That's always how I spent the first 3-6 months of a new job, anyway.

I got to see her at Arisia this year and she's awesome. And she did a LOT of research to make sure that all the chemistry was correct. I love it.

It's a work in progress (over several years), let me get the bird netting up on the cherry tree later today so I'm not horrifically ashamed. (AKA pics tomorrow.)

That's fantastic! I did something similar with a bunch of EMT conduit and attachments from Makerpipe, after Gardeners had a thing for more money than I wanted to spend, and I looked at the pieces and went, "I could custom build that for half the cost."
