Tonight was disappointment and frustration. Heās 20 and heās gutted. I didnāt see any of that as petulance.

Ole deserves so much more credit than heās been given.

I want to keep him. I wonder how mature & flawless his current detractors were when they were 20 years old. The current club mess cannot be put on Garnaās shoulders. I suspect many of his loudest critics might falter occasionally too under far less intense media scrutiny. Keep goinā Alejandro!

Young lad absolutely gutted walking down the tunnel. Youāre right, he was doing ok, and recovering well from the opening mistake ⦠rough night for him.

Trump said they talked about relocating some 1.8 million Palestinians and leveling the Gaza Strip, which he suggested could become the "Riviera of the Middle East" under U.S. ownership. www.npr.org/2025/02/04/n...

Very sad to see. Really wanted to see him regain his 2023 form at United.

I suppose, in retrospect, that the time he sent an armed mob to kill people he didn't like, including his vice president, might have offered some hints to his character, but that's really just hindsight talking.

Gutted to be honest. But as you say, there was probably no coming back, and he isnāt the first high profile player to move on. I wish Marcus all the best.

Itās not funnier. But itās quicker; both in terms of creation and consumption. In the same way that McDonalds isnāt tastier or healthier than a āhome cooked mealā. The cycle of āconsume, consume, consumeā continues while millions scroll mindlessly.

Asking for help is never as straightforward from the inside, especially not at 27, in full public view. Anyway, we are unlikely to agree here today, Marit, which is cool. Iām happy to give the lad the benefit of the doubt, and still dream of a āRoy of the Roversā ending for him.

I never said it was sudden. Accumulative negativity across many years, from many sources, some of whom Iām sure he respected or even idolised. All this in an ever-changing work environment⦠Never has such a talented player been so resented by his own fanbase. I find the whole thing very sad.

Why? Because heās human. No salary - no matter how obscene - can change that. Marcus has had so much more abuse than Garna. When he was literally helping provide food for disadvantaged kids during a global pandemic, he was still be criticised. He can do no right. Thatāll take its toll.
