A key reason the GOP Congress abdicated it's Article I powers to Trump is it allows them to evade accountability for decisions they don't want to make/be seen making MCs agonize over how one vote might tank their re-election. Trump is unaccountable--he can't run again and SCOTUS declared him king

How Elon Musk is managing Grok now. It is both ridiculous and worrying that AIs and social media platforms are being actively redesigned to parrot disinformation.

Also, the way that every event, no matter how shocking or horrible or unprecedented, gets fed into the far-right social media hallucination machine, and twisted beyond recognition until it supports the far-right's own nonsensical worldview, is the very core of why we are where we are as a society.

Democratic senators need to stop pretending that GOP senators are their “good friends across the aisle” and realize many of them are just lying sociopaths who are actively fanning the flames of violence against them.

So ask yourself, did you see anything about this in the initial coverage of Brian Wilson’s death? And if not, why not? Its not coincidence. uk.news.yahoo.com/brian-wilson...

The owner of Twitter sends out 100 right wing propaganda tweets every single day and the algorithm is set up so that every single person on Twitter has to see every single one of these tweets. Now here’s another piece about Blue Sky’s ideological diversity problem.

We see regularly scheduled articles about why Bluesky is bad. But what about the obvious point that Twitter is Elon's Machine for Fascism and it's breaking reporters' brains? I decided to write it. Reporters need to get off Elon's Twitter

RIP to Brian Wilson, who gave us many perfect albums but also the perfect interview

Interesting piece on the Nazi junkie, strung out on a huge array of drugs seemingly at all times, who effectively destroyed huge sectors of the US government and caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people so far. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/30/u...

Buried in the tax bill: "no State or political subdivision thereof may enforce any law or regulation regulating artificial intelligence models, artificial intelligence systems, or automated decision systems during the 10-year period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act."

The left should be making Russ Vought own this 24/7 in very simple language: Vought is making it easier for scammers to target you and your grandma.

As long as I can remember Republicans have claimed tax cuts pay for themselves. This lie not only got us to unfathomable budget deficits but it is also a prime example of the long-term media behavior of holding Republicans to a different standard than Democrats

Alito is probably at home right now, angrily raising one weird crank flag after another

In less than one week, many Americans will no longer be able to apply for Social Security benefits over the phone, setting the stage for disruptions and upheaval. Nearly 6 million seniors live more than 46.6 miles, roundtrip, from a field office, per a new analysis. trib.al/5XSPqyL

this is just a level of sickness that i don’t think any society can come back from

I'm not on twitter anymore, but this tweet from 2 years ago is sadly more accurate than ever

This is from my home state senator Mark Warner (D-Va), one of the few lawmakers in Congress who's demonstrated a keen understanding of cybersecurity issues. Warner was responding to POTUS' firing of Gen. Timothy Haugh, the commander of the US Cyber Command/NSA director at the behest of a […]

Did we legalize comedy yet?

mm yes more of that populism I've heard so much about

HSBC cuts $TSLA price target to $130 — from an already-bearish $165. “.. softening growth and aggressive pricing. .. [Data] suggests FSD progress is slow or stagnating. .. We think the time to market could easily be years away.”

I am BEGGING people to frame this properly. The issue here is not one colossal blunder where a reporter got info. The issue is it’s clear these people are all routinely ignoring the most absolutely basic security protocols, and WE HAVE NO IDEA what breaches this has already enabled.
