Black and brown voices should not be tick boxes but sometimes, just sometimes (ok many times) they risk being just that. A shiny thing for the publisher to say they DID. If they won’t back it and invest long term in an author, it’s not good enough.

In my very early writing days I remember reading one of your stories in a Leicestershire story story prize (I think run by Damien Walter). It was brilliant. Obvs felt very honoured to publish you in Lost and Found after that.
