Lots of good GUI wrappers for yt-dlp around too if you don’t want to futz with the command line.
And If you need a bunch of storage space to house it all, I recommend “unraid” - turn an old computer into a NAS!

Yeah I grabbed it for a “trickle down” build, I.e. I built a crazy gaming pc, and so all the old gaming pc parts are becoming my new office desktop. The case will be a nice upgrade from the current “pile of parts sitting on a motherboard box” that it currently is…

Completely anecdotal but I kitted my home theater setup with them and I haven’t noticed any issues at all. Unscientific logic: HDMI is a digital signal so it’s not going to “degrade” so much as it’ll either work or it won’t (and most likely over the distance you’re going it’ll be fine)
