Have you seen John Greyson's Lilies? I don't know if 1912 through 1952 is too modern, but it has a tragic gothic feel to it, plus Quebecois Catholicism makes it feel less modern than those times might otherwise feel...

Thank you! I am alive so far, so yay? I wiped out on ice and messed up my hamstring/calf recently and they think it's from that, so hopefully just a passing problem... hope yours turned out to be totally insignificant!

Ha, just had a day that started w/ my GP saying "it's unlikely, but just to be extra cautious let's rule out a blood clot, here's a doppler ultrasound requisition," and ended w/ me in the Emergency Department being shot full of anticoagulants.
