Correct. I donāt have much interest in elections for powerless ceremonial officials. That said, I am a staunch Count Binface supporter.

I donāt agree. London Mayor is little more than a ceremonial role (Tony Blair made sure of this) with some responsibility for transport and partial responsibility for policing. Fewer than 1 in 6 electors voted for Khan in 2024 and heās only faced paper candidates - never credible opposition

For years many people have massively overestimated the authority, influence and power of the London Mayor⦠and that clearly now includes the London Mayor.

Interesting.
I got blocked by Paul Graham for (albeit very sarcastically) suggesting there might be some more complexity and nuance to this topic beyond boys play shooting games while girls post on instagram.

The article (which i did read before replying) is only a little less inaccurate.
If you want people to read an article for a full view then say so. Donāt post a (deliberately?) misleading snippet and misinterpretation of a chart and then call āboringā when context is added.

Tbf the LOTR movies are the 6th, 9th and 12th highest rated movies of all time on IMDb - probably worth a try?

Important context - this has been happening since well before lockdown and the decline was even more aggressive.
Oxford University paper Cherwell cites āredevelopment programs, rising rents and unsympathetic councilsā all as reasons clubs have been eventually forced to shut their doors for good.

Perhaps we put 100 people on flash cards and show them to Suella to give us the āEnglishā or āNot Englishā verdict.
Like a sort of Rorschach test for racism.
A āRorscism testā if you will.

Win at Eden Park.
They can afford to lose the other 3 and it can still be a successful year for the Boks.
