There is no god to save us from ourselves. No higher power to give us salvation. Only together can we choose to thrive with kindness, courage, and cooperation; or suffer in cruelty, suspicion, and isolation.

To be fair, doesn't the story of Jesus include accepting and protecting immigrants? There's a non-zero chance he means that. Maybe small, but still non-zero. Though, even given the benefit of the doubt, this is an idiotic thing for him to put out there. Don't need more Christian persecution complex.

Congratulations! If you're ever in Portland Oregon again (assuming I don't move) my partner and I would love to share a bottle of Ardbeg or Laphroaig in celebration.

I imagine this is probably the most logically consistent statement made in the entire interview. Not that I will ever know for sure, as I would rather cut off my arms and legs than listen to these two men talk to one another for 2 hours.

I'm sick of this taboo about discussing "politics" for the same damn reason. As time has passed, what's deemed political covers a wider range. What started out as not discussing how we vote, wound up at accepting people's existence or other fundamental aspects of reality is "getting political".

I usually wind up spending most of my time on pinball when I go there. I think it was Iron Maiden I spent the most time on last time. Guess I should have gone there after work on Friday.

Replace 'government' with 'right wing politicians and oligarchs'. Government is what's responsible for the rules and regulations that allow for small businesses to compete against huge corporations. Turns out they'll crush you if you remove those guard rails. How is this difficult to understand?

The push-back could literally just be "Lets assume I'm an Ice officer, prove to me right now that you're a US citizen or you're getting deported tomorrow." and watch them squirm as you remind them they don't get due process unless they prove they're a citizen.

I've been saying the same thing. We should really be giving more historical attention to the Association of German National Jews right now. People been making the same damn arguments they did.

Doubt it'll survive this "supreme" Court, but good none the less. We should be flooding the zone with completely reasonable no-nonsense things like this, instead of cowering behind shit excuses. Make them fight against and publicly oppose rationality.

You're probably right, but she is calling for others to give up on their principles.

Fuck that 'anti-woke' bullshit. Nothing screams weakness louder than giving up your principles and abandoning your vulnerable allies. We do need Democrats to stop being weak. Grow a fucking spine and stand for the rights and dignity of all, or get the fuck out of the way for someone who will.

Wife is getting deported and still supports Trump?! What kind of chicken shit fuck face can't face the fact they were wrong when it hurts their own partner? I hope that someday he fully recognizes and feels the shame of how thoughtlessly cruel he is.

I do think this is an important place that we need to be addressing. There's too many voices arguing that it's all a zero-sum game. We need more people speaking about the many direct and indirect ways young men are also harmed by this toxic masculinity.

Original poster must have crawled up their own ass in shame as soon as they realized what 'presumed' means.

I guess having photo and video evidence, as well as admissions on social media, is equivalent to 'lack of a criminal history only proves how dangerous they could be'. May he suffocate on his own flatulence.

But, Devil's Advocate. People seeing how completely fucked his ideas are could maybe hopefully possibly might make them realize their mistakes... And now I'm even more convinced we're all going to die of an airborne strain of super polio before this is all over.

Isn't that the basis of the 'flood the zone' strategy? We're used to focusing on individual scandals, having 10,000 of them makes it impossible to organize on any given one. Though, now we have a bit more experience. The scandal now is just "These people are awful and here's 10,000 reasons why".

What a crazy time to live, where the internment of Japanese-Americans seems outright reasonable in comparison. I always thought of history as a cautionary lesson in human nature. I guess some saw it as a blueprint and a challenge. We should never tolerate them or their ideas.

Too bad I can't edit to fix simple spelling mistakes. I assume most will realize I meant to instead of go.
