I was a peacekeeper at my local #NoKings rally in Dublin, CA yesterday. Our protesters were lined up on Dublin Blvd waving signs, but there was an exit out of a parking lot that was often blocked by them. I become traffic control, stopping people from crossing to let cars out. Got thanked a lot!

I remember Highlander fans calling Vancouver BC “Seacouver” back in the 1990’s because it stood in for Seattle.

My Dad turned 93 this past Sunday. He’s not in the best of health, but we had a nice phone conversation. And he’s still posting Anti-Trump memes on facebook!

The only reason I stay there is that my family is there. And some friends from high school, who have finally found their political voices. On bluesky, I’m mainly here to follow journalists and political folks. It’s not a place where normal social stuff happens. So far.

Beautiful show. Loved Joel. Bridget Everett reminds me of my good friend Kathryn, who is also a big, beautiful, blond woman with an awesome voice.

Those two guys look to be about the same age as me, so we all grew up during the cold war. WTF.

WAPO. You had the opportunity to endorse Harris. You did not, and chose to obey your master. Now you see the consequences of your lack of action? 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I’ve been accessing that particular website for many things besides papers since the early 2000’s, maybe even the late 90’s since I’ve been on the internet since 1994.

Got it. I’ve been concerned about all of our important work in the biological sciences disappearing as well. What a mess.

But when I did that, this was at the top of the page.

I just did a pubmed search, and if your the Jennifer Goff that is doing research on microbes in waste streams, your papers are still there. I’m researcher working in diagnostics for industry, and I’m worried that NCBI and Pubmed will also disappear. Hang in there!

Hmm, I live in an apartment, so I will have to find a community garden or go to the local farmers markets every Saturday. Which is fine. Farmers markets in the East Bay Area are awesome!

As a registered Democrat, I’d vote for you if I could, but I’m not one of the core group that get’s to do that. I’m sending good thoughts your way, hoping that the core group get’s some balls and selects you!

Dammit, Columbia is my favorite Nespresso pod. I know, first world problem. Just makes you think about how all of this baloney affects so many small things.

Just remember to use the right size cup for the pod. Or to use a cup, period. I’ve forgotten to do that a couple of times and it ain’t pretty! 🤭
