Here’s the thing - saying “white” as a descriptor is like saying “tall”. Using a descriptor word doesn’t make something racist. What makes something racist is if it relies on a negative stereotype of a group of people to degrade them as “other”. Who holds the power in this situation?

I was an asshole the day prior and it was my karma moment!

Don’t worry. I do it too. Lesson learned. Don’t be online with 4 hrs of sleep! I was tired & wanted to understand how Tucker’s Russia love fits the narrative. I time traveled back to the 80s in my head thinking about the historical alliances. It’s why I would be a terrible politician gaffs galore!

I said something deeply stupid in a fit of exhaustion. Deeply stupid.

Lesson learned. Don’t go online and say things while exhausted. Deeply dumb comments may result. I’m embarrassed.

I never said we should get behind the bombing. I do wonder how it would be looked at from a geopolitical point of view though. Also lesson learned. Don’t go online and say things while exhausted. Deeply dumb comments may result. I’m embarrassed that I said something so so stupid.

I am embarrassed. I made a deeply dumb comment. Lesson learned: don’t comment online when exhausted.

All you have to do is look at the comments in the article. Narrative is already started.

History of what though? History of the Middle East? Of the Levant? Of Iran? Of the Arab Peninsula? You keep calling it white country. Putting a black white western paradigm onto another region is racism and demeaning to people who live in that region.
comment in response to post
To be clear, I’m not saying there isn’t racism or bigotry within Israel. Colorism is a worldwide problem. But European colonial culture is no worse than Arab or Ottoman colonialism. The Levant is where all that oppression comes together. It isn’t just a European thing.

My lab is internally based. I call it ‘uterus’.

I mean, the whole region is awash with DNA from the Levant area. Modern day Palestinians are like modern day Americans - mishmash of DNA from various regions. You can’t exist at a crossroads of migration without some mixing of DNA. Regardless of DNA, the land belongs to both peoples.

People are crying out, why aren’t you hearing them? I hear the 10,000+ children kidnapped in the Ukraine and the people massacred in Sudan. And the suffering of people in my own land. In this case, a U.S. politician is focused on U.S. suffering. Why do you insist he not do so?
comment in response to post
Your words “yet you bemoan” implies that you do not think his statement can stand without association with what is happening in Israel and Gaza. Fighting for peace means seeing humanity in everyone and not believing in justifying suffering of others.
comment in response to post
Oh sweetheart. One can lead a group, have a different perspective than others in the group. I am part of a group where we have maga members being led by democratic socialists working together. Nuance and inclusion.
comment in response to post
Why are you justifying attacks on civilians in Colorado based on what is happening in Israel? Are his stances & statements on what is happening in Gaza not enough for you? Do you not have enough compassion in your heart to understand both things being wrong without trying to excuse one?
comment in response to post
Being Zionist just means that people support the right of Jewish people to their own homeland. Jews are just as native to the Middle East as Palestinians. Being Zionist does not mean you agree with what is happening in Gaza. Assuming that a Zionist automatically supports the atrocities is bigotry.

Thank you, Jonathan for your sensible responses.

I never said that anti-Israel is antisemitism. Those are your assumptions of my beliefs. Ask yourself, why do you assume that is my take? Because I question social media and media echo chambers? No good guys in this fight. Only innocents and people fueled by hatred.
comment in response to post
Because false flag implies a level of manufactured fear. There is no need to make things up and the current administration is not capable of doing it anyway
comment in response to post
Media is polarizing. How many killed in Gaza are Hamas? Don’t get me wrong, any innocent killed is too many. Yet numbers are grouped to push a narrative. The images on social media are promoted to create outrage. Dig a little deeper & no good guys to the conflict. Just innocents & not

I love you so much!

Comments in posts about clear antisemitism in the U.S. that bring up the horrors in Gaza illustrate the raging undercurrent of anti-Jewish sentiment throughout the world. It is the flip side of Netanyahu supporters bringing up October 7th to justify the suffering in Gaza now. IMO you all suck
comment in response to post
What if someone countered your comment by saying, the slaughter in Gaza is abhorrent. That said, so is the slave trade occurring in Saudi Arabia and murders of dissidents in Iran.
comment in response to post
What are you talking about? The attack was antisemitism full stop. People who march for the hostages to be released do not automatically support the horrors of Netanyahu. Antisemitism is on the increase in both conservative and liberal/progressive spaces.

Or, hear me out, there are crazy right wing radicals from every corner of the world who justify violence.
