sometimes the attitude towards people whose beliefs are fickle and emotionally guided is like "fuck em, we dont need them anyways" by way of just constant public mockery, but there isnt going to be a spontaneous communist revolution, posting isnt praxis, and most people in this country ARE like that

my main point is ultimately to build an effective coalition, were gunna need to wade into the pools of temperamental attitudes and erratic beliefs, a lot of people are going to be politically engaged for the first time and not have the years of deprogramming other leftists have gone through

compliments go a long way, snarky dunks poison peoples minds, "well, their views shouldnt change just from being embarassed" but the truth is they often are, we are dealing with humans, not spreadsheets, and that entails all of their fickle, idiotic impulses and emotions

like im not saying big tent bigots and awful people just for bodies, there is *a* line, but simultaneously the line does need to be lowered a bit, well meaning people are going to say stupid shit, its important to sus out intent and act on that and not get caught up in semantics

this isnt to say that they are like ride-or-die allies if they do, but like...it isn't just free brownie points anymore, especially if boosting trans people, so any company that does will be getting a hardy +2 from me

No one who signs onto this authoritarian project is going to be well. They bring with them a whole host of fucked up things. That’s the nature of this beast. Use these problems to understand the whole nature of the ideology, but resist getting sucked into the palace intrigue aspect of things.

i think persona 5 is overrated, and like expedition 33, probably because the gameplay is actually surprisingly engaging, decisions feel meaningful and different enemy groups require different approaches, so you cant just spam atk the world is also engaging and its not just npc/pc yapping simulator

how is it possible to be a politician IN california and not know how to deal with narcissists?

so dont feel like you need to defend AI in its current form just because it has some legitimate use cases, if these companies were interested in actually solving those specific problems, they could and probably much better with some focus

AI's "usefulness" doesnt and will never justify how much of a net negative it is in every other regard because the benefits CAN just exist without it, it just requires solving the specific problem and not throwing an entire planet of computing at it

for instance, if you have a dataset in the millions, you can utilize ML and statistics to find some pretty deep needles in the haystack, and thats good! but you can just....do that with the specific data and ML and not destroy the planet/steal every work in the process to do so

i dont think anyone realistically expects a massive social change overnight, it will take years to build, but if you cant even advocate for a real progressive with a real shot of winning his race than what the fuck are we doing?

your message needs to unequivocally be free palestine and you need to be willing to embrace frameworks left of liberalism to truly be seen as a new direction instead of best case for a failing system that will literally go back to failing the moment power is lost in the slightest

this is an inter-generational struggle, and every body that rams that wall makes it a little weaker for the next, and eventually it will break
