I have just ordered matching umbrellas from Ince umbrellas for our 30th wedding anniversary with Pearl button details. Every 10 years we try to order something from heritage craftsmen and this year we’ve gone for umbrellas. They must never be left anywhere 😱

My first two books were set in flats - one in a modern block and the other in a terrace divided into flats 😁

I had the same when I was teaching audiology. It’s essentially a practical vocational qualification. The students were cross I wouldn’t tell them what was going to be in the tests. I tried to explain that I was teaching them stuff so they could do the job, not just pass a test 🤷🏻‍♀️

Communicate with creators. I have worked with some amazing editors who are SO good at keeping me in the loop and been ghosted by others. Good communication makes ALL the difference. That includes bad news.

Not just dyslexic 😀 for our daughter it maintained a love of story when her narrative sense was way ahead of her actual reading ability. Biff and Chip just didn’t cut it, plot-wise 😆 That could have turned her off reading but instead she maintained her love of story until the reading caught up 👍

What kind of thing are you after? My favourites this year have been We Are The Wibbly, Ava and the Acorn and All The Wonderful Ways To Read. All fab in their own way 😁
