I am a member of a nonprofit medical scheme in South Africa. It's required to cover prescribed minimum benefits, i.e. essential healthcare services and treatments. I am FULLY covered for hospitalisation in specific hospitals on my plan. I am not on any chronic meds, but those would also be covered.

I was in a hospital with a young girl with a grossly distended belly. Her doctor gaslit her and told her very rudely he was "100% sure" she just needed to lose some weight (!). Luckily, he did some scans - and yes, she had aggressive cancer. He didn't even apologise.

One of the companies I work for was hugely bullish on LLMs, but we have been able to prove that, at best, they function as personal assistants that make mistakes. They have neither knowledge or context, so they spit out a lot of things that are just plain wrong, putting companies in jeopardy.
