I gotta get back to this game one day. I played the opening and then never went back.

Yeah, i could understand Kay at the beginning of the game being like she was in Pirate's Fortune. But the Kay that fought for ND and finally found someone who doesn't leave her, it was very strange. And I also just found Hondo's character very annoying in general.

Part of the reason I'm glad I played Wild Card second because they're a much more cohesive team in that one. And have a lot more banter as a result.

Playing Kay's story felt like it was ripped right from the Smuggler/Bounty Hunter stories in The Old Republic and it's nice to have more of that kind of Star Wars out there. I don't know if they'll ever do a sequel, but I'd definitely be down for more if it ever happened. #StarWarsOutlaws

The game's a lot of fun, and I had fun at launch but it's even better now. I like the Jedi games as much as anyone, but it's cool to see a bigger Star Wars game that doesn't really have anything to do with Jedi or Sith. #StarWarsOutlaws

And as for the DLCs, like I said before I think Wild Card is some of the best content this game has to offer even if it's not as heavy on action. And Pirate's Fortune is fine, but is ultimately brought down by Hondo's character to the point where I question his inclusion. #StarWarsOutlaws

I also appreciate them not hard cutting to a loading screen every time you land or take off from a planet like Bethesda did in Starfield. It's a little thing, but the added effort is nice to keep the player engaged in the world rather than constantly taking them out of it. #StarWarsOutlaws

The space stuff is not as fleshed out as it could have been, especially after coming off of jumping back into Everspace 2 last month, but it's good for what it is and if they ever get a chance at a sequel I can see where they could definitely do more. #StarWarsOutlaws

Not that I hated things at launch, but with the changes they've made combat is a lot of fun and especially at the beginning of the game you feel like you're blasting your way out by the skin of your teeth if you get discovered. #StarWarsOutlaws

And while exploration on Akiva and Tatooine does have its moments it just feels like its missing something from how exploration on Toshara feels at the start of the game. But exploration as a whole is better than a lot of open world games, especially the Nix treasures. #StarWarsOutlaws

Once you get to Akiva I do think the main story takes kind of a hit. The mission to infiltrate Jabba's palace and the mission to repair ND-5 are both strong highlights but they're not enough to save things, especially when the story takes even more of a hit at the very end. #StarWarsOutlaws

So overall final thoughts on this game now that I've pretty much seen everything it has to offer. I think the game starts out very strong with the initial opening, the stuff on Toshara, and finding Ank on Kjimi. The main story is at its strongest and exploration is its most open. #StarWarsOutlaws

Overall, even though I enjoyed the main story well enough, the open world is fun to explore, and Pirate's Fortune was good for what it was I think Wild Card was on a different level. Seriously the best content this game has to offer. #StarWarsOutlaws

Lando leaves her with some thoughts of what she'll do in the new galaxy to come too. And while I'd like to see where things would go if they actually explored that and Kay's character some more this is still very fitting as the final main arc of story for me to play through. #StarWarsOutlaws

And yeah, like I said, at the end Kay starts thinking beyond the score or her own immediate survival and puts herself on the line to save innocent people from a mess she inadvertently helped create. #StarWarsOutlaws

Even though it ended up being just a vehicle for more storytelling, the big Sabaac game was a spectacle moment that was cool to see. And Lando did not overstay his welcome or detract from everything else going on the way Hondo did in Pirate's Fortune. #StarWarsOutlaws

The improved eavesdropping mechanic that they tried out here was really cool and the overall investigation part to get into the tournament was a look into the kind of more detailed environment interactions on a job that could be further improved in a sequel. #StarWarsOutlaws

Like there's ruins, ancient droids, and lost civilizations everywhere in these games and there's not much else out there that gives you that. Mass Effect does it a little bit especially in the first game, but it's still not as seamlessly included in the worldbuilding. #StarWars

At least Kay and ND-5 worked out their issues in the end but you could have even explored that without Hondo. I don't know, I'm just confused as to why he's portrayed as the selling point of this story when all he does is detract from it. #StarWarsOutlaws

Not exactly sure why we had to be saddled with an unlikable Jack Sparrow wannabe for the entire rest of the DLC though. Especially when there never ends up being any actual pirate treasure at the end. Like everything else this DLC has going on is far more interesting. #StarWarsOutlaws

They really should have done a Legendary Edition style remaster collection before Veilguard came out.
comment in response to post
Veilguard's better than a lot of people give it credit for but if the devs had just been allowed to stick to what they do best without the constant corporate meddling it could have been so much more and Dragon Age, even if it comes back one day, will always be lesser for it. #DragonAge

We're seeing individual games, whole studios, and most importantly the devs themselves be sacrificed at the altar of live service all so the executives can buy a few more expensive cars or another private jet. And in this case EA was the rule not the exception. #DragonAge
comment in response to post
Still, is anyone surprised that largely it was EA that led to the game's turbulent development. No, I feel like that's been clear almost from the word go. And did Andrew Wilson or the other executives take the brunt of the criticism or get laid off, no of course not. #DragonAge

So yeah, main quest done, and despite its shortcomings it was a fun time. Time to see what the rest of the game has to offer. #StarWarsOutlaws

And I have absolutely no idea why they didn't just go all the way with Vail joining the crew when that would have been far more interesting than bringing Ansara in for no reason. #StarWarsOutlaws

Would have liked more interaction with the companion characters too. After you recruit them they kinda just feel like they're just there. No quests associated with them, no real conversations outside of some ambient dialogue after you do another main mission. #StarWarsOutlaws

I think Kay goes on a great character journey especially after infiltrating Jabba's palace, but as a result of the story itself not being as fleshed out it doesn't feel quite as impactful as it should have been. #StarWarsOutlaws
comment in response to post
So yeah overall it was a fine enough main story though after that initial Toshara arc it's like a lot of the setup and fleshing out was abandoned in favor of getting the story done faster. #StarWarsOutlaws
comment in response to post
I'm surprised that they had the rest of the crew leave at the end especially since the whole game had a thread of Kay trying to find people who won't leave. And sure she finds ND but it kind of takes away from the message and Kay's journey when the rest still leave in the end. #StarWarsOutlaws

The battle with ND-5 was pretty terrible and kind of took away from what was the final sequence's best arc. Because honestly I could do without Kay's mother and Ansara entirely and the stuff with Jaylen and Sliro was pretty telegraphed. #StarWarsOutlaws
comment in response to post
And then you get to the final sequence and it pretty much feels like one extended mission until the final space battle. Some twists and turns in the story there and they made Vader feel even scarier than he is in Fallen Order just by having Kay react the way she did. #StarWarsOutlaws
comment in response to post
And the quest infiltrating Jabba's palace and the quest to repair ND-5 are probably my favorite quests in the game and the two quests that really showcase Kay turning into a leader. But I still feel like the initial arc on Toshara and the arc getting Ank were way more fleshed out. #StarWarsOutlaws

I feel like once you get to Akiva you're on a rollercoaster to the end that doesn't leave a lot of room for downtime. Like there's some opportunity there when you're looking to upgrade your speeder and when you first get to Tatooine too if you don't run right after Hoss. #StarWarsOutlaws
