It may not feel like it, but spring has arrived in SW British Columbia. Almost a million herring have just completed spawning, turning 20 to 30 miles of near shore waters white, and today, on the heels of some brisk SW winds, kettles of turkey vultures soared above our home.

Canada’s response to America’s attack is about much more than trade. It is about who we are as two peoples who happen to occupy the same continent. Trump’s recent alignment with dictators who embrace power over people is reprehensible to most Canadians. This a fight between good and evil.

If anyone is confused why Trump is threatening Canada, take 30 seconds to research Manifest Destiny. Note that it is consistent with his principles. Someone just read him the Coles notes version.
