One of many, many people with this particular "real name". You might know me from... IDK. College? Did we work together once? Prodigy's old math forum? debian-devel? A certain social MUSH? xoogler slack? "Making Light" comments?

I'm going to probably do more bird photos, even if they aren't anything special, so asking to be added to the feed. #addBirder

I am not aware of any interaction I personally have had with someone I would call a "celebrity", but my family: - my sister met Chelsea Clinton at summer camp in the 90s - my brother-in-law was a minor gaming-world celebrity - my dad was on a basic-cable game show hosted by Helen Mirren

Well dammit. I went through a whole thing to get my #homelab image server up and running with LetsEncrypt SSL and even doing login-with-Google, and now I'm going to need to redo the whole thing because my parents' email rejects any email I send then with a link to it, because dynamic DNS==spam.

I am really tired of "debating pronouns" as a shorthand for "left wing policy debates normies don't care about". Trans people exist, and part of basic human decency is not disrespecting someone by deliberately saying "my idea of your gender is more valid than your idea of your gender". That's it.

Slack message from my manager to team: "Next Thursday is a US holiday - Juneteenth - that [EMPLOYERNAME] observes as a paid holiday. It celebrates the end of slavery in the US. Do something appropriate to celebrate. Try not to get arrested."

Going to start a new photo album of #awkward #bird #photography. Was thinking about the name "Dorks in the air", but some of the photos I have are on a wire or tree branch.

You ever just block someone not because they said something *offensive* per se, but just vibes that were weirdly off in a "that dude who corners you at a party and will not stop his stream-of-consciousness even to breathe" way?

Today in #windowsARM #software woes: gcc doesn't support the platform (though clang/LLVM does), so no native ghc (or ghcup).

I recently replaced my personal laptop with a Windows-on-ARM laptop and every day sine has been exciting discoveries in stuff that just doesn't quite work right or work right yet on that platform. Today's discovery: all the toolbar icons are invisible on the native win/ARM version of LibreOffice.
