Last night I went to see a friend perform in a burlesque comedy cabaret. She played an alien in love with a cow (cow performed by her service dog) and sang a parody of Levitating by Dua Lipa. Someone else did a My Sharona parody sung by La Llorona. Gold.

Since my abuela died, my Spanish tongue is withering. I think about this a lot. Maybe she’s the only one who was mooring the Mexican American part of me to the here and now. Maybe now that she, the last surviving grandparent I had, is gone, I will slowly seep into complete whiteness.

When RFK Jr says that “only really sick kids should die from measles” if unvaccinated, this is eugenics. Not only is that completely untrue since we had eradicated the virus thanks to the vaccine, but he’s saying that sick and high risk kids are expendable. This is eugenics, plain and simple.
