Hahaha, so true about lunch (and the science of course - we try 😀).

Are you interested in developing models that implement predictive coding in biologically realistic networks? And in developing experimentally testable predictions to distinguish different models of predictive coding? And do you want to join the DBI2-team, working on creating closed-loop innovations?

Yes the roadsweeper! That is how we should do things, right?! Step, breath, sweep. Step, breath, sweep.

With typically tens of neurons, the full stimulus information can be recovered. This depends on the type of code that is used for decoding (rate or spike) and the type of neuron. Excitatory and inhibitory cells take complementary roles in carrying information in a single unit or population activity.

“We must stop relying on scientific infrastructure provided by one nation or organization.”—very true, also for many ‘hidden’ systems (such as CRIS systems ). I believe ORCID is a very nice example of how things can be done.

En nog meer van dezelfde auteur: academic.oup.com/brain/articl...
De echte vraag is: wat is nou de essentie van wat we doen als wetenschappers, en besteden we daar ook daadwerkelijk het grootste deel van onze tijd aan?

The students dived into #neuroscience with four quiz rounds, dissecting a #brain, and experiencing a live #EEG workshop. Later, the @brainhelpdesk.bsky.social website was launched, and Job van den Hurk gave an exciting lecture.

By integrating diverse techniques, we advance the understanding of how structure drives emergent behaviour and equip future data scientists with the tools to analyze complex networks.
👏 A huge thank you to our PIs and PhD candidates for your dedication!
